The much-awaited reality shows Big Brother just started its new season roughly 8 days back, but the drama it has stirred has surely left everyone hooked on it.
The show had been making headlines since its inception but more so over the past couple of days after the eviction of Luke Valentine.
The 30-year-old, for once, looked like a promising contender, with Luke himself being confident about his victory on the show, which he declared on the first day itself. But things went south for the player with his one mistake, which had him out of the show unexpectedly! Here’s what he said!
What Did Luke Say on Big Brother?
In a recent exchange among participants of the CBS reality show, one of the contestants, Luke Valentine, used an incredibly offensive racial slur towards fellow housemates Jared Fields, Cory Wurtenberger, and Hisam Goueli, as his speech included the highly offensive N-word. The impact of this incident was profound and immediate, with many fans and viewers taking to social media to demand Valentine’s removal from the show.
Take a look at what he said here:
Wurtenberger and Goueli were understandably so disturbed by the slur that they left the room immediately. In the latest episode of the show, host Julie Chen Moonves announced Valentine’s eviction, and Reilly Smedley, one of the remaining houseguests, informed the rest of the cast that Valentine had been “removed from the house” due to a serious breach of the Code of Conduct. It is clear that the use of such language is unacceptable and has no place in our society, let alone on national television.
Even ex-contestant of the 15th season, Andy Herren, demanded that Luke be evicted from the show, largely because of his cool attitude even after making the racist comment. He took to his Twitter to ask Big Brother makers to remove Luke. Herren wrote, “Production should remove Luke. Set an example. Show current and future players that language like that will not be tolerated.”
Who Is Luke Valentine?
Luke Valentine, 30, is a highly skilled and accomplished illustrator from the picturesque state of Florida in the United States and has earned a well-deserved reputation for his exceptional webcomic, Spaltterbrain.
With a wealth of experience under his belt, he seemed self-assured in his ability to win over his fellow competitors, citing his unwavering drive for success as his primary motivation.
The show itself provides a unique and fascinating glimpse into the daily routines and interactions of the contestants, who are placed under constant surveillance as they cohabitate in a communal home.
The coveted grand prize of $750,000 awaits the ultimate victor of this thrilling and highly competitive contest.
Who Else Left Big Brother 25?
After the first week, the houseguests were summoned to the diary room to cast their votes for eviction. To the surprise of no one, Kirsten Elwin was unanimously nominated to leave the show. Host Julie Chen Moonves left no room for ambiguity, making it abundantly clear that there would be no chance of Kirsten returning to the competition.
It’s worth noting that Kirsten was the first contestant to be eliminated from the game, despite not being the first person to enter the house. Her eviction on Night 8 was inevitable, as she failed to build strong relationships with her fellow houseguests from the outset of the competition.
Despite her valiant efforts, Kirsten simply couldn’t overcome the social barriers that separated her from her peers.
Those without cable can watch Big Brother Season 25 live on CBS through a live TV streaming service (like DirecTV Stream) or by subscribing to CBS’s streaming service, Paramount+.
