This is exactly what Soobin from the popular K-pop group TXT is going through right now, as he shares a unique and special bond with Odi, so much so that since he was adopted in 2021, Odi has been an integral part of not only Soobin but other TXT member’s lives.
The grief was so profound that it was felt by all the fans of the group too, who also had made a bond with the hedgehog over time. Here’s what happened to Odi.
Did Odi Die?
During a Weverse broadcast on August 17th, Soobin, a prominent member of the internationally acclaimed K-pop sensation TXT, shared saddening news that left fans around the globe in sorrow. Soobin disclosed that their cherished dorm companion, Odi, the hedgehog, had tragically passed away the prior month. Soobin disclosed that Odi had been grappling with a condition that left him paralyzed and incapable of movement.
This disheartening event occurred just days following the group’s captivating performance in Japan, casting sorrow over what should have been a joyous period for the group.
Odi was introduced to the world by Soobin in April 2021, who shared the same dormitory as TXT. This made Odi not only become an integral part of the group’s daily life but also managed to captivate the collective heart of TXT’s fan base, lovingly referred to as “MOAs.”
Sharing a living space with fellow members Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai, Odi’s endearing presence became a testament to the unique bond that artists often share with their pets. Sharing the news of Odi’s demise, Soobin mentioned his bond with his dear pet in one of his recent WeVerse sessions,
“I didn’t know how to begin or how to bring it up. I lacked the courage to talk about it. I even contemplated never discussing Odi’s condition. But with so many inquiries about him, I realized I couldn’t keep hiding the truth. I believe I’ve sent him off peacefully, but my heart ached for a long time.”
He continued,
“After our dome tour ended, I video-called Odi, telling him I’d be back in two weeks. He seemed strong, and I felt both pride and sadness. But just a few days later, he was gone. I wasn’t there to bid him farewell, and that weighs heavily on my heart.”
Who Is Soobin from TXT?
Soobin is a member of the sensational group K-pop group- TXT (Tomorrow X Together) and has captured the hearts of fans with his multifaceted talents and endearing personality. As the leader of TXT, Soobin not only takes on the responsibility of guiding the group but also serves as a role model for his fellow members and fans.
