In the eighth episode of The Witcher, Vilgefortz engages in a pivotal meeting with Emperor Emhyr in which they discuss forming an alliance. It is worth noting that Vilgefortz bears a prominent scar on his face and has had his left eye replaced with a stone, adding to his intimidating presence.
In Castle Stygga, Yennefer found herself imprisoned by Vilgefortz. While she bore witness to the aftermath of the Tor Lara explosion, which left Vilgefortz’s face badly scarred and burned. One of his eyes was destroyed in the blast, but he was already using his magical abilities to regrow it.
After the portal in Tor Lara exploded, Vilgefortz suffered a significant facial injury and lost his eye. In order to restore his vision, he sought out a highly unusual solution. Vilgefortz opted to have a precious and uncommon stone surgically implanted in the place of his missing eye.
This rare stone allowed him to see once again, but only through the power of magic. Despite the success of the procedure, the loss of his eye and the subsequent injury to his face was still a significant burden for Vilgefortz to bear.

Yennefer became a victim of the mage’s cruel imprisonment and torture methods as he relentlessly hunted for Ciri’s whereabouts. Nevertheless, Geralt and his allies fearlessly set out to locate Vilgefortz, which led them to the heavily fortified fortress.
In the midst of the intense battle, Geralt’s companions sustained various injuries while fighting Vilgefortz.
