The anticipation among fans for the upcoming video game Starfield is palpable, and it’s not without reason! Starfield is poised to be Bethesda’s most ambitious game to date, promising to immerse players in a vast and expansive galaxy that boasts over 1,000 planets to explore.
The allure of Starfield lies in the endless possibilities that this expansive universe offers. Each new world in the game is brimming with opportunities for players to engage in, from embarking on new missions that unravel the mysteries of the cosmos to the thrill of discovering and scanning peculiar and exotic alien flora.
Players will need to unlock the Boost Pack Training skill in the Tech tree, which becomes accessible at Level 2, and equip the Constellation Backpack to navigate this vast universe with the aid of boosters. The Constellation Backpack is the first of its kind in Starfield, but players can later choose to swap it out or upgrade it for enhanced gameplay experiences. As anticipation mounts, fans eagerly await their chance to embark on this extraordinary interstellar journey.
How to Get a Jetpack & Use Boost Pack?
To unlock the Boost Pack training skill, gamers need to unlock the Boost Pack Training skill, which is found in the Teck skill tree. You can access this skill tree after reaching Level 2 in the game. Thankfully, it only requires one skill point, so you can unlock it early on after completing the introductory missions.
The next step in line is to acquire a backpack that comes equipped with boosters. This can be done by progressing through the game’s story until you encounter Sarah Morgan in New Atlantis.
As part of the main questline, she will invite you to join Constellation, and as a reward, you will receive the Constellation Backpack, which comes with the boosters you need.
But if you find that your boost pack isn’t functioning as expected, it’s likely because you haven’t invested in the Boost Pack Training skill. Many actions in the game are tied to specific skills, and you need at least one rank in the relevant skill to utilize those actions effectively.
The Boost Pack Training skill has multiple ranks, each offering different benefits for your boost pack:
- Rank 1: Unlocks the ability to use boost packs.
- Rank 2: Reduces the amount of fuel consumed when using a boost pack.
- Rank 3: Boost pack fuel regenerates at a faster rate.
- Rank 4: Doubles the bonuses provided by the previous ranks, further enhancing your boost pack capabilities.
Will Starfield Have Survival?
As of now, Starfield won’t include a survival mode at launch. While survival mode is a highly requested feature by players, it has not been confirmed as part of the initial release of the game. Bethesda has not officially announced whether a survival difficulty option will be available when the game launches.
However, there have been hints that such a mode might be in development, whether as an official DLC (Downloadable Content) or through player-created mods. Survival modes are often popular among players who enjoy a more challenging and immersive gaming experience, so it’s possible that Bethesda will consider adding it to Starfield in the future.
Despite gamers’ hopes and expectations, Todd Howard, the director of Bethesda, confirmed a couple of months ago that survival mode would not be included in Starfield at the game’s launch. The delay in the game’s release also did not result in the inclusion of this mode, disappointing those who were looking forward to it.
Starfield is all set to release on September 6, 2023, and will be available for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
