While there have been several newly introduced features in the past, Party Play is among the most sought-after, given how it instantly became popular, even though it was recently released.

What Is Party Play and Party Challenge in Pokémon Go?
Party Play is Pokémon Go’s new feature, which was revealed on October 16, 2023, and was instantly implemented into the game the following day.
Like other games, Party Play in Pokémon Go lets you create a party with your friends or someone online to form a team of up to four trainers so that you can finish quests efficiently while having fun.
You can also do Party Challenges in the game using the established party. These challenges usually include small requests/tasks such as spinning PokéStops, catching different types of Pokémon, and even participating in the raids.
Every Party Challenge has its own set of rewards, which can vary depending on the difficulty. Some popular rewards for these tasks include Razz Berries, Stardust, and Great Balls.
You can play together with teammates for one hour using the Party Play function, and there are no friendship requirements as long as the trainer is Level 15 or above.
Pokémon Go: How To Create a Party?
Since you’ve learned what Party Play is capable of in the game, it is time to create your own party so that you can invite other players to join you. Once you reach Level 15, follow the steps below to create a party:
- Open Pokémon Go, tap on your avatar in the bottom left corner and choose the trainer menu.
- You will find a new tab named “PARTY” at the top of the screen. Click it.
- Now, tap CREATE, and it will provide you with QR and invite codes.
- Send the invite code to your teammates, or let them scan your QR code to join your party.
Pokémon Go: How To Join a Party?
While you can create a new party and invite others, if you’re experiencing some issues while creating a party or don’t want to bother doing it, you can always join another trainer’s party.
Here’s how you can join a party in Pokémon Go:
- Open Pokémon Go and choose the trainer tab by navigating into your avatar profile.
- Choose the tab “PARTY,” and you will find “JOIN PARTY.”
- Tap the JOIN PARTY option, and you will be given two options.
- Either enter an invite code or scan the party’s QR code from the party’s owner.
You have to remember that you need to be Level 15 or above not only to create a party but also to join a new one.
Furthermore, Party Play only lasts for one hour, and once it expires, you can simply create another party to play with the same teammates. However, there is an exception for special events, as there is no time limit.
Another important thing to take note of is that you have to stay close to other players of your party physically in order to join or continue playing, so there is really no chance to play with someone whom you have met online.
