After a suspenseful hiatus, fans eagerly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248, hoping for insight into Yuji’s showdown with Sukuna.
In the previous chapter, Sukuna severed his own hand to thwart Higuruma’s attack, inadvertently transferring the Executioner’s Sword to Yuji.
Yuji then attempted an assault on Sukuna with the cursed weapon, leading to a pivotal question: Did Yuji master the Reverse Cursed Technique?
Disclaimer: The below article contains spoilers from the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248.
In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248, Yuji has acquired the Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT). In the battle, Sukuna inflicted damage on Yuji. But he realized that Yuji had learned the Reverse Cursed Technique over the past month, enabling self-healing. Although Yuji’s newfound skill rapidly drains his cursed energy, his determination promises an intense battle ahead.
Has Yuji Mastered the Reverse Cursed Technique Now?
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248 spoilers and raw scans reveal that Yuji has indeed learned the Reverse Cursed Technique, with Yuta and Rika entering the fray against Sukuna.
Titled “Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 20,” the chapter unfolds as Yuji’s attack on Sukuna proves ineffective, rendering the Executioner’s Sword useless.
Sukuna inflicts further harm on Yuji while observing Kirara and Ui Ui transporting Higuruma’s body to safety, thanks to Ui Ui’s teleportation ability. They’re heading to Shoko, which explains the disappearance of Gojo’s corpse.
However, relying on someone else for healing isn’t as efficient as self-recovery, causing delays.
Sukuna soon realizes that over the past month, Yuji has mastered the Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT) and employs it to heal himself. The spoilers vividly depict Yuji’s self-healing.
Sukuna’s contemplation turns melancholic as he reflects on the sorcerers who have perished in pursuit of him.
His dissatisfaction doesn’t stem from losing formidable foes but rather from the realization that other sorcerers have always aspired to defeat Sukuna himself. Yuji emerges as an exception, unwavering in his ideals despite Sukuna’s attempts to break him.
While Yuji may lag in power and potential, his unwavering spirit irritates Sukuna.
Most fans applauded Yuji’s rapid mastery of RCT, enabling him to mend his battered body and endure Sukuna’s relentless assaults.
This newfound skill, while impressive, comes with limitations, rapidly depleting Yuji’s cursed energy. Yet his tenacity suggests he’ll persist, buying time for allies like Yuta or Gojo to intervene and shift the balance.
For now, Yuji’s budding healing abilities symbolize his growth and unwavering determination, setting the stage for an epic shonen battle between ideological opposites.
The chapter also fuels speculation about Gojo’s potential return.
As Gojo’s body reaches Shoko, hope arises that he might be healed. However, Sukuna points out that the Reverse Cursed Technique is less effective when applied to someone else than when used on oneself.
The reference to “Gojo’s corpse” in the spoilers further suggests Gojo’s demise. With these revelations, the possibility of Gojo’s return becomes increasingly unlikely.
As revealed in the Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248 spoilers, the manga will go on a brief hiatus next week.
The official translation of chapter 248 is scheduled for release on Saturday, January 22, 2024, at 12 a.m. JST in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump issue 8.
