Not having an internet connection is a nightmare for many. The same nightmare is being faced by the millions of people who have been left without any internet or landline phone service after a huge Sky network outage.
While imagining life without the internet is pretty hard to fathom, some people are really facing the same issue.
According to Down Detector, users from across the UK are struggling with their internet connection as Sky broadband is down. Over 41,000 users report problems with their internet as of writing. The first report of the issue came at 10 p.m., and ever since, people have been furious.
Why Is Sky Broadband Not Working?
The outrage by the users started around 10 PM BST, as over 2,000 BT customers faced problems with their internet and took to social media to blast the service provider. The company took their social media page to inform about the issue. The reason stated was the multiple exchange outages which affected the broadband.
“There is currently a Multiple Exchange Outage in the above area affecting Broadband, Talk and Fiber customers. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused,” said the post.
Adding to the previous post, Sky Help Team posted, “Support teams have confirmed that all Broadband, Talk, and Fiber services have been restored in the above area. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
Which Area Is the Most Affected?
Reports of network outages spiked on the Down Detector website at 8:20 a.m. as users flocked to it to report issues. According to Down Detector, the most affected locations without internet are Blackpool and Fleetwood. The website has also received complaints from Leeds, Birmingham, Bolton, Bristol, Manchester and Lees.
Among all, 84% of those with problems reported that it had to do with their Internet service.
A user claimed when they try to access their account, it loads a message saying, “technical difficulties.” The Lancashire area has been hit by heavy deluges of rain, with flooding reported in certain places, which is the reason for the outage.
What The Users Are Saying About Sky Broadband Being Down?
On X (formerly known as Twitter), the Sky Help Team asked if users were having issues with their connection. They were met with a barrage of comments complaining about the service, and everyone blasted the service provider.
“skybroadband you won sky. Enjoy the money, I hope it makes you happy. Dear lord, what a sad little life sky. You ruined my night completely so you can have the money and I hope now you can spend it on lessons in grace and decorum,” said a user.
Another user asked to be “refunded for every second,” complaining about the internet being down.
We hope that this won’t be the situation.
Is that FR?
Yes, everyone on the internet is ‘panicking’.
