The popular ABC sitcom Three’s Company was a kind of comfort show during the 70s and 80s mainly because of the three actors, John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt, and Suzanne Somers.
Since Suzanne Somers passed away recently, people are coming back to the actors who starred beside her and see how they’re doing, especially Joyce Dewitt, who played Janet Wood in Three’s Company.
Joyce Dewitt is currently in her 70s and doing fairly well in terms of health, and even though she wasn’t as frequent in acting after Three’s Company, lately, she’s been appearing in various video songs and films, including The Savant and Ask Me to Dance.

Who Is Joyce Dewitt and Where Is She Now?
Joyce Dewitt is an actress and comedian who is well known for her role in Three’s Company as Janet Wood, in which she appeared in 171 episodes from 1976 to 1984.
She made her debut through the Baretta TV series in an uncredited role, but she eventually landed the role of Janet in Three’s Company and garnered enormous popularity.
However, apart from appearing in a few other films and TV series, she never really acted in significant roles and often went back and forth between working and quitting.
While her appearances on TV have been relatively less considering her long career, her recent years have been eventful as she starred in two major films, The Savant and Ask Me to Dance.
Dewitt also made an appearance in the Davisson Brothers Band’s song that paid tribute to West Virginia since that’s where she was born. Surprisingly, the video song involves several of Dewitt’s feats at the beginning of her career.
As of 2023, Joyce Dewitt is alive and well, often participating in charity works and occasional film appearances. Her charity works, in which she participated with the House and Senate members, have benefited many homeless people.
Furthermore, she has also been hosting various presentations for award events, including the Presidential End Hunger Awards, which she co-hosted with Jeff Bridges at the Kennedy Center.
Joyce Dewitt’s Beautiful Message to Suzanne Somers
Even though Joyce Dewitt has been a few years longer than Suzanne Somers in Three’s Company, they have been colleagues for four years, from 1977 to 1981.
Given how sitcom actors often bond more than other actors, Dewitt would have a close relationship with Suzanne as a friend. After Somers’ passing, Dewitt remembered the actor by saying,
“My heart goes out to Suzanne’s family. They are a very close family — deeply connected and caring one to the other. I can only imagine how difficult this time is for all of them.”
“I’m sure Suzanne was greeted by Angels into the loving wisdom waiting for all of us on the other side, and I hope that will assist her family’s hearts in healing as they travel through this difficult time.”
The dynamic between Joyce Dewitt and Suzanne Somers was the highlight of Three’s Company as they absolutely lived through their roles of Janet Wood and Chrissy Snow.
Unfortunately, Somers wasn’t satisfied with her pay and demanded equal pay to John Ritter, who was being paid $150,000 per episode, while she only received $30,000 and was fired from the series.
