In yet another manmade catastrophe news:

A rare purple liquid is coming after the Gen-Z, and it is entertaining as hell!

But before that, who remembers the “Pinkety Drinkety?”

Starbucks was reigning with its pink coffee, creating a wave of FOMO during the pandemic. The makeup guru, James Charles, was popping eye shadows after sipping his Pinkety Drinkety. Soon people were high on the sugar rush, following the trend.

Almost asked the lady “can I have a pinkety drinkety?” That’s when you know you watch too much James Charles❤️😂 @jamescharles pic.twitter.com/cy6QH1DJKv

Now three years later, we are at the mercy of yet another trend–

What Is the Grimace Shake Trend?

https://twitter.com/JakeyT360/status/1673082078676795393?s=20

Even with eight miles worth of scrolling, this trend never fails to make us laugh. The absurdity of its humor is simply unpredictable.

Here’s a basic breakdown of the trend–

  • Basically, people are lining up outside Mcdonald’s to get a hold of a new drink from the special menu.
  • The drink is a milkshake and purple in color.
  • The young bunch is trying this drink for the first time.
  • And, in an exaggerated reaction, they fall down dramatically in random places with the drink spilled all over them.
  • The point of the trend is to make it seem like a crime scene, or rather a hilariously coined word, Grimes Scene.

The implication of the trend is the capitalist urge and curiosity to try something different or simply follow the herd. And honestly, we totally condone it for how amusing the trend is!

What Did Grimace Represent?

What Did Grimace Represent

Grimace was introduced back in 2012. After the family of Ronald McDonald, Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese, Birdie the Early Bird, and the Fry Kids, people were more perplexed by the unusual mascot of Grimace. Some thought it was kind of a giant candy, while some perceived it to be a gloomy version of a McSwirl (considering its name starts with grim).

Regardless, no one had a firm answer to what the mascot represented.

But Brian Bates came to the rescue to set the record straight in 2021. Bates, the manager of Canada’s McDonald revealed to CBC News that the Grimace actually “is an enormous taste bud, but a taste bud nonetheless.” But the mascot also represents a milkshake, as posted in McDonald’s official account, where they stated that Grimace is an “embodiment of a milkshake.”

So basically, Grimace was designed in the structure of a giant purple tongue, and it represents how good the food tastes.

What Is Grimace McDonald’s Supposed to Be?

McDonald’s often releases a special menu to entice customers. Just last year, McDonald’s released a limited edition meal in collaboration with the world-renowned band BTS, which included an assortment of sauces hand-picked by the members of the boyband along with the whole meal.

This time, they released a special edition meal called the Grimace, which comprises a choice of either a Big Mac or 10-piece chicken McNugget, fries, and an aesthetically-pleasing purple shake. People got curious as to what the drink was all about. But McDonald’s wanted the suspense to create more hype, but they did hint that the drink might be blueberry-flavored

This meal is available only until the supplies last; hence people are rushing to get their hands on it. Harping on a TikTok trend is indeed a currency for the new generation, so hurry up and show us more innovative Grimes scenes.

From a little girl who wrote school plays and made her friends act in them to an adolescent who got into dark humor, Yashica has built her own universe of peculiar characters inspired by great cinema. She has imbibed the philosophies of David Fincher's characters but lives like the eccentricity of Phoebe Waller Bridge's women. Her metahumans are those who can use the power of words to create an elixir of emotions and bring them to life on screen. Jordan Peele, Issa Rae, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ilana-Abbi, Raj-DK, Anurag Kashyap, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and others are her Marvel's Avengers. With over two years of experience as a content writer, her writing pieces are well-researched, with a sprinkle of her opinions/inferences that keep the audiences engaged. She is still exploring more on the anime scene but is highly intrigued by it. The cinephile in her makes her appreciate the intricacies of filmmaking. You will get a lot more insight into it in her articles and thoroughly enjoy her explanations. Well, someday, you might see Yashica as one of the writers for a movie-- it's her ultimate dream!
