Summer 2023 is the season of Hollywood blockbusters and sequels. From Across the SpiderVerse and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts to The Flash and Indiana Jones 5, audiences were treated to tentpole films like nothing ever before.

While there’s a lot of debate on which films have won the global box office and which ones have failed, there’s one sequel that generated a lot of interest in it for various reasons- Fast X.

Vin Diesel is back with his gang, and the franchise, which began in 2001 as street racing, has become something more than that.

However, the franchise continues to bring in big bucks more than two decades after the premiere of Fast and Furious. Fast X made more than $700 million worldwide, and Fast X: Part 2, also called Fast and Furious 11, is set to shake the box office again.

Fast & Furious 11 will be released on April 4, 2025. It will be directed by Louis Letterier, with Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel writing the script. Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, and more are set to return for the sequel to Fast X. The film will finally let viewers know who survived among Dom, Brian,  Han, Ramsey, and Tej. Fans think it could be the franchise’s last film.

When Will Fast & Furious 11 Be Released?

When Will Fast & Furious 11 Be Released

Many franchise fans expected the Fast & Furious 11 film to be released in 2024. However, they will have to wait another year to see the second part of Fast X. Vin Diesel announced on Instagram on June 8, 2023, that the eleventh Fast and Furious film will be released on April 4, 2025.

The film will continue the story told in Fast X since it is the second part of that. It’s expected that the film will be released in theaters worldwide. Louis Letterier will direct the movie with a script written by Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel.

A trailer for Fast & Furious 11 has yet to be released because the film has yet to start filming. It’s currently in pre-production. The film is expected to go into filming by April 2024 to meet its release date. However, nothing has been confirmed yet, possibly with the ongoing WGA strike and impending SAG strikes.

Who Will Star in Fast & Furious 11?

The Fast and Furious franchise is full of big-name stars. But who will return for the next installment? While an official cast list hasn’t been announced yet, it’s safe to bet that Vin Diesel as Dom Toretto, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Gal Gadot as Gisele, Tyrese Gibson as Roman, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, Ludacris as Tej, and Jason as Dante Reyes are returning.

Also, it’s expected that actors who debuted in Fast X, like Brie Larson as Tess, Alan Ritchson as Aimes, and Daniela Melchior as Isabel, will return as their characters in Fast X- Part 2. However, the biggest surprise is that Dwayne Johnson returns as Luke Hobbs. The actor confirmed in an Instagram post that he and Vin Diesel had put their feuds aside and decided to collaborate again.

NEWS: A 'Fast & Furious' film focused on Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's 'Luke Hobbs' has seemingly been confirmed.

The film will act as a "bridge" between Fast X: Part 1 and Fast X: Part 2.

It will NOT be a sequel to the 2019 film 'Hobbs & Shaw'.

It has also been announced that Luke Hobbs will lead his solo film, which will be separate from Fast & Furious 11. Also, it has been confirmed that the movie won’t be a sequel to Hobbs & Shaw 2. Instead, it will connect Fast X and Fast & Furious 11/ Fast X: Part 2. As such, it’s expected to be released in 2024. But there have been no updates, possibly due to the WGA strike.

As such, will Fast & Furious 11 be pushed back? It certainly could.

Is Fast & Furious 11 The Last Film of the Franchise?

Most fans believe that Fast & Furious 11 is the franchise’s last film, and they are happy that instead of the story getting watered down and the action becoming borderline ridiculous, the franchise is getting a fitting ending. But is that the truth? There has been no confirmation from Vin Diesel that the eleventh installment is the last one.

In fact, he has said that Fast X might be made into a trilogy in itself. If that’s true, we might see a twelfth film as well. However, it doesn’t look like the car racing franchise will finish that soon. After all, with almost innumerable exciting characters, the number of spin-offs will be incredible.

Also, allegedly a film surrounding Dom Toretto and the Toretto family is being planned. As such, it doesn’t look like the franchise will come to a close that easily.

Fast X ended with the fates of Han, Ramsey, Tej, Roman, Dom, and Brian undecided. However, Dom and his son will certainly escape unscathed. But the fortunes of the rest are undetermined. On the other hand, Cipher and Letty were stranded in Antarctica before Gisele arrived to help them. It also looks like Dante is going after Hobbs, which will set up his solo film. Seeing who survives in Fast & Furious 11 and beyond will be interesting.

Fast X Part 2 will be released in cinemas on April 4, 2025.

What are your thoughts on Fast & Furious 11?

Will it be the last film of the franchise? What will the plot revolve around? Which character’s spin-off film would you like to see the most?
