Donald Trump is a man of power, wealth, and influence. Like him or hate him, but you can’t ignore him. The MAGA advocate has amassed a staunch following throughout America. At the same time, the controversial icon of the modern era has dealt with more than his share of scandals, indictments, and felony charges.
Trump, the man who dares to always walk on a thin line, is opposed by women, immigrants, people of color, and liberals. Even then, TIME’s Person Of The Year has never sugar-coated his opinions and expressed them fearlessly.
Needless to say, he has received an abnormal amount of death threats; according to the Secret Service, they have investigated over 3,000 incidents in which Trump’s life was threatened.
In a harrowing incident, an edgy comedian, Kathy Griffin, posed with a mock severed head of Donald Trump in May 2017. This shocking pic led to the blacklisting of the comedian but also traumatized the Trump family, especially the youngest son, Barron Trump.
And the Twitterati (or the ‘X’ers) woke up to a collective whiplash when it was announced that Donald Trump was dead.
On September 20, 2023, phones were buzzing with X (Twitter) notifications as a series of posts were sent from an account. People were shocked by the contents, including that former president Donald Trump has passed away. But what’s even more shocking was the fact that the tweets were sent out from his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.’s account. However, these posts have been debunked, and Donald Trump is very much alive. As per the spokesperson, Donald Trump Jr.’s X account was hacked, where more offensive posts included insulting President Joe Biden, using the N-word, North Korea, Jeffrey Epstein, and more.
(PS- the posts have since been deleted.)
Did Donald Trump Really Die?
At around 08:00 ET (12:00 GMT) on September 20, several unhinged tweets were posted from Donald Trump Jr.’s account.
One of the first posts shocked everyone, which read–
“I’m sad to announce my father, Donald Trump has passed away. I will be running for president in 2024.”
It is confirmed that these claims are entirely false, and the hoax was posted from Donald Trump Jr.’s account but was hacked.
Donald Trump Jr.’s Twitter Hack Explained
Donald Trump Jr.’s spokesperson has revealed that Jr.’s X account was hacked, which explains the offensive tweets.
Apart from Donald Trump’s death hoax, other offensive posts included–
- North Korea was “about to get smoked.”
- “Some interesting messages” with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who committed suicide in prison.
- Another post was about a cryptocurrency influencer, Richard Heart, claiming he would burn the SEC for Heart.
- Verbally abusing President Joe Biden, using the N-word.
- Stating that his dad has influence over Elon Musk.
- Some random tweet about Youtuber Logan Paul.
The hacker seems to be having a field day with this account. However, Trump’s representatives have contacted the X headquarters to investigate the hacking, while the posts have been deleted.
What are your thoughts on this case? Do you think X should increase its security, considering hacking such influential figures may cause global conflicts?
