Danelo Cavalcante, a 5-foot-tall murderer, left the police stunned as he escaped prison after receiving a life sentence for homicide.
Cavalcante, 34 years old, had been imprisoned for a crime that had shaken this close-knit community to its core. He had recently faced justice after being convicted of first-degree murder and handed a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the wild murder of his former lover in 2021.
A sad narrative of crime and vengeance has taken a staggering turn in the calm corners of Chester County, Pennsylvania. Danelo Cavalcante, a name that sent shivers down the spines of those who knew him, escaped from the Chester County Prison on the 31st of August (Thursday morning), leaving a dent in the reputation of the police authorities.
Why Was Cavalcante Convicted?
On Friday morning, the ultimate chaos began when police reported that a man tagged “extremely dangerous” was missing from the Pennsylvania Prison. The man was recently sentenced to life in prison for committing the gruesome murder of his girlfriend.
The murder charges were proven after the police found that Danelo stabbed his former girlfriend, Deborah Brando, in front of her children. Cavalcante previously threatened to murder Brando.
After committing the crime in Royersford, Cavalcante fled the scene. However, a few hours later, police got hold of Cavalcante in Virginia. He was convicted on August 16, 2021.
The murder received a lot of international attention. Despite his arrest, people were taken aback by the gruesomeness of the act. The brutality of killing a woman in front of her children made people wonder what kind of society we are a part of.
