A few months back, viewers of Good Morning America thought something was wrong. The show, which Janai Norman and her fellow newscasters host, was bombarded with messages from people saying that Norman was pregnant.
Back then, the host thought everyone was reading into things and looking at her dress too critically. But it turns out they were right! Now, several months later, they want to know if the baby is here.
No, as of writing, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Good Morning America anchor Janai Norman or her family about the arrival of her third baby. The last post on her Twitter/ X page (@janai) was on November 5, 2023. Norman has two kids- a 5-year-old son, Blake, and a 3-year-old daughter.
Is Janai Norman’s New Baby Here?
As of November 25, 2023, there’s no confirmation if Good Morning America news anchor Janai Norman had her third baby.
It’s possible that she had the baby but is choosing to keep the reveal a secret since it’s so soon after birth. After all, Norman has a 3-year-old daughter, whose name she hasn’t revealed.
She also shields her children’s names as well as photos online as much as possible while sharing her journey of motherhood. So, she may be doing the same with the third. Janai explained in a People magazine interview her reason for doing so:
“I chose to be in front of the camera; they have not. It’s about consent. But at the same time, my journey through motherhood is so near and dear to me and essential to who I am. I want to share my journey, but be respectful to them and their privacy.”
When the baby arrives, he/she will join her two siblings- a 5-year-old brother, Blake, and a 3-year-old sister, notching up the family number to 5.
Janai Norman first revealed her pregnancy to the world through a People magazine article published on April 30, 2023. She said she had welcomed the blessing. As per Janai:
“I’ve been manifesting this. I’ve been very open about wanting to have a third. Just before I found out I told friends at lunch ‘I really feel like things are starting to clear out to allow me to welcome the blessing.'”
She had said that she was ten weeks pregnant back then. Interestingly, her viewers clocked her pregnancy even before she knew it. Norman said:
“The Saturday before I found out there were two different viewers who commented in places and were like ‘Hey, is Janai pregnant?’ And even that day that I found out I posted a picture that said ‘Caption this’ and somebody said ‘Surprise pregnancy’. I don’t know what it is but some viewers just know, so I’m excited to confirm.”
But the pregnancy hasn’t been easy for her since it came with “more nausea, more moodiness, more sleepiness.” However, she endured it all and went on maternity leave in October 2023.
Her co-stars, Gio Benitez and Whit Johnson, wished her luck and gave her a funny yet heartwarming farewell on November 5. Benitez recorded a video uploaded on Twitter/ X (@GioBenitez) where he said:
“This is the final show, she’s heading out on maternity leave. This is the last show before Janai becomes mommy to baby number three!”
That’s not all. During their daily segment, they brought out a giant cake and a huge selection of treats for the baby shower.
Janai Norman reposted the video for her 25k plus followers on her Twitter/ X account, @janai, but she hasn’t given any updates since that day. So, at this point, we have to be patient for the announcement of the good news.
