As they say, rumors transfer faster than facts, especially when it comes to celebrities, as witnessed by tons of stories that were spread all these years, even though most turn out to be false reports.

Currently, a rumor related to the Black Adam’s star, Dwayne Johnson, is trending on the internet, making many of his fans believe that he may have been dead. So, is it true?

Did Dwayne Johnson die? No. Dwayne Johnson is well and alive in October 2023 and has not been in any critical situation, nor did he get injured while on sets. It isn’t uncommon that celebrities are targeted through death hoaxes, as has happened several times with Dwayne Johnson in the past. So, such a rumor is again being spread by some attention seekers on social media.

Death Hoax Explained: Is Dwayne Johnson Alive?

A post shared by Dwayne Johnson (@therock)

Dwayne Johnson is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and, consequently, one of the most influential celebrities on the planet. Some of his popular movies include Black Adam, Red Notice, Rampage, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Due to his high status as a renowned actor, it is normal for people to use his name on social media platforms to gain attention. Thus, declaring Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, dead has become a tradition among these people even when he’s healthy.

While we have no idea where the term “Did Dwayne Johnson Die” emerged on the trending bar in October 2023, given that this is not the first time the actor was falsely reported as dead, it is understandable.

A History of Death Hoaxes Related to Dwayne Johnson

As we stated above, Dwayne Johnson has faced these death hoaxes more than once in the past, especially in 2019 when news began circulating with the headline “BBC: Dwayne Johnson Dies at 47 after a terrible stunt attempt failed.”

Following this news, fans took to social media and tweeted to confirm the source, but eventually, they found it was a false report and a hoax. What’s more, the BBC didn’t actually write any article in such a manner.

the rock is dead and dwayne johnson killed him

Eventually, the rumors died down, but even before 2019, the actor has been at the center of death hoaxes as he faced them in 2011 and 2014. Even with all the rumors, the actor never really responded, showing he doesn’t care about the false attention seekers.

Instead, he continued with his regular productive life of making movies and re-appearing in WWE Smackdown like he did last month, which was eventful for the fans.

So, it is advised not to take these rumors seriously because even the slightest of these rumors should be backed by solid proof that no one holds unless these things actually happen.

While no such post is trending on X or other known social media platforms, you may have heard about it from somewhere. When similar death hoaxes surrounding The Rock emerged in 2019, there were several reactions from the fans.

A few were in disbelief, while some were filled with anger for spreading false news. Here are some notable reactions:
