Cyberpunk 2077 finds multiple ways to make the player’s life exciting, including characters’ various professions to make money and relish the game’s ambiance.
Recently, players have found another exciting thing: Nibbles, the infamous cat in the game, was seen on the wanted list for breaking the laws. So, why is this poor cat on the wanted list?
Apparently, The stray cat in Cyberpunk 2077, Nibbles, has committed many crimes, including First and Second-Degree Murders, Selling Stolen Cyberware, Distribution of Military-Grade Pharmaceuticals, and even the Illegal Possession of Human Remains. While many players were baffled to learn this, it was a bug or an in-game glitch that was only specific to a few players as far as we’re concerned.
So, who is this infamous cat, Nibbles? Let’s explore this in detail below.
Cyberpunk 2077: Who Is Nibbles and How To Adopt It?
Nibbles is a stray cat in Cyberpunk 2077 that resides in the Megabuilding H10 and is a potential pet for the main character, V. However, in order to adopt it, you need to complete a side quest.
First, you must visit V’s apartment, which you can directly travel to using the Megabuilding H10: Atrium point. However, before entering the room, find the apartment “0721” at the end of the hallway.
There, you will find a trash bin with a prompt “Feed teh cat.” Once you read the note, get into the V’s apartment and sleep there for a few hours to activate the quest.
After you wake up, return to the trash bin, and you’ll find Nibbles eating the food you left after reading the prompt. Once Johnny interacts with the cat, you will find the option to pick up the cat.
You can pick up Nibbles and take it to your apartment, and every time you return to it after completing a mission or just exploring the world, it will be waiting for you as the permanent resident/pet.
Why Is Nibbles on the Wanted List?
Nibbles, in general, is an ordinary stray cat that barely gets any food to eat, so it is completely natural to be perplexed at why it is on the wanted list.
This event came to light when a Reddit user named Fetching Frog posted a picture of Nibbles sleeping on a couch, but upon closer inspection, it showed that the cat had a bounty of $500.
According to the in-game NCPD Database, the cat is wanted for multiple crimes, including First-Degree and Second-Degree Murders, Selling Stolen Cyberware, Illegally Obtained Human Remains, and the Distribution of Military-Grade Pharmaceuticals.
Funnily enough, it was a glitch that appeared out of nowhere, but it should make no sense that a normal stray cat sells stuff like military-grade pharmaceuticals unless it has some sort of human-type intelligence.
In any case, after the Reddit user posted about the Nibbles being a wanted cat, people began joking about how it is entirely common, and it doesn’t surprise them as that’s perfectly a normal cat.
On the other hand, some people found the same issue with several different animals and NPCs and concluded it was due to the auto-generated bounties. It turns out each player can find these unnatural bounties randomly.
If you’re one of the Cyberpunk 2077 players, you may have a chance to encounter similar strange incidents where normal stray cats and NPCs are wanted for multiple crimes.
So, if your Nibbles shows a similar bounty while playing, it is possible that it might have been an in-game bug.
What do you think about this strange bug that’s happening in the game?
