The reporter joined the local CBS News station in Dallas in 2022 and quickly became a favorite among audiences thanks to her straight but fun reporting style.
Many admired her ability to ask tough questions when necessary. That’s why when she was missing for a few weeks, viewers wondered if she had departed the station.
Brooke Katz is no longer employed at CBS 11 News Dallas, where she has worked since January 2022. Her LinkedIn states that she left in November 2023 and is looking for a new job. Her employers have been mum about her departure and have quietly removed her bio from their website.
Why Is Brooke Katz No Longer on Channel 11 News?
It appears that reporter and journalist Brooke Katz, who worked for CBS 11 News Dallas since January 2022, has departed the news station.
While her employers haven’t officially confirmed her departure, her bio has been missing from the station’s official website.
Also, her official LinkedIn page shows that she left her Channel 11 job in November 2023. She posted a message on her LinkedIn in early November that said:
“I am looking for a new role and would appreciate your support. Thank you in advance for any connections, advice, or opportunities you can offer.”
As of writing, she hasn’t updated her social media followers about any new job she might have landed. This leads us to believe that her job hunting is still ongoing.
Viewers asked her former co-anchor, Keith Russell, about Brooke’s sudden absence from the newscasts, but he has also kept mum.
All of these point to the fact that she is no longer employed at Channel 11. But fans of Katz are wondering what could have led to her leaving a job she loved.
Some think the untimely death of her mother in 2020 could have pushed her to take a break from work after almost three years. After all, she hasn’t posted anything on Instagram to her 5,991 followers for the last three weeks.
Others think she was lowkey fired because the company is quietly downsizing and eliminating employees they don’t necessarily need.
Also, if she had voluntarily left, or if her departure was a mutual agreement with the network, they would have done at least something resembling a farewell.
Others believe that since Katz joined only in 2022, she might have been quietly let go because she wasn’t with the network long enough to warrant a farewell.
Who Is Brooke Katz?
Brooke Katz graduated with honors from Rutgers University and began her TV journalism career as a news reporter/ producer with WCBD News 2 Charleston, South Carolina.
She also worked for WHAS11 Louisville, Kentucky, as an anchor/traffic anchor/reporter. Also, Katz was the 4 pm WCNC Charlotte, North Carolina anchor before going to DFW Metroplex TV.
In 2019, she joined KTVT as the weekend anchor/reporter. Brooke moved to the CBS 11 morning anchor job in January 2022, which she co-hosted with Keith Russell.
She took over from Karen Borta once she moved on to newscasts in the later timeslot. As of now, Katz is still looking for her next project.
But with 15 years of working experience under her belt, she will probably land a new job soon.
