But today, she is more known for her plastic surgeries, which have marred her legacy.

She was famously called “the Vocal Bible,” for her intricate riffs and heavy voice-layering. Brandy did reap the rewards of her talent because she has sold more than 40 million records globally.
Her 1998 single, “The Boy Is Mine,” with Monica, a contemporary R&B personality, won her the Grammy award for Best R&B Vocal by a Duo or Group.
Furthermore, “Never Say Never,” her second studio album, reached #2 and sold 16 million copies. It’s been her best-selling album till now. Apart from her music, she is also known for her acting ability.
She debuted on the small screen in 1993’s ABC sitcom “Thea.” Brandy also starred as the titular character in 1997’s Cinderella, which garnered 60 million views.
This was the highest rating the network had received in 16 years in that timeslot, and the film earned an Emmy Award the next year. She also starred in the cult-classic slasher film of 1998 called “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.”
Brandy has starred in her reality series, “Brandy: Special Delivery.” That’s not all. She has served as a judge on America’s Got Talent’s first season (2006). But she didn’t always look on from the other side.
The musician even participated as a contestant on the 11th “Dancing with the Stars“ season. But despite the accolades, her legacy is being marred with allegations of plastic surgeries and myriad other controversies.
Did Brandy Norwood Get Plastic Surgery and Had To Be Hospitalized?
Multiple people have wondered online if Brandy Norwood has undergone plastic surgeries. Many suspect that she had a nose job, breast augmentation, jaw bone shaving, botox, eyelid surgery, etc., because she allegedly looks drastically different from how she was some years ago.
However, Neither Norwood nor her team have ever addressed these allegations. Additionally, some have said that her changed looks might be due to age. But others are not so convinced.
When Norwood had to seek medical treatment on October 12, 2022, people thought it was due to one of her plastic surgeries having gone horribly wrong. However, she later clarified that it was due to dehydration. She said (via CNN):
“To my beloved fam, friends, and starz, thank you for sending love and light my way. I am following doctors’ orders and getting the rest I need due to dehydration and low amounts of nutrition. Thank you for your prayers and support. Grateful for you all, see you soon.”
But, TMZ stated that she had suffered a seizure. As per the paramedics, they reached her home on October 11, 2022, at noon and immediately brought her to a Los Angeles hospital.
Her parents were reportedly with her. Now, this isn’t the first time she has faced allegations of health issues resulting from botched plastic surgeries. In 2017, she suffered health issues on a Delta Air Lines flight and was hospitalized back then as well.
But her reps clarified that it was due to stress (via Variety):
“She has been traveling extensively as part of an ongoing tour and several personal appearances. In recent days, she has taken more than 10 long-haul flights including international. She was in the studio all night last night until it was time for her to leave for the airport to catch a 5:45 a.m. flight. The stress of all of the traveling and working so incessantly has exhausted her. She will be relaxing for the next few days.”
It’s important to note that many celebrities seem to have got work done on their bodies and faces to look youthful. It seems like Brandy did the same because even though she’s 44, her skin looks tight, and it appears as if she has no wrinkles.
Botox, a minor plastic surgery, is one way to achieve that because it gives the recipient a youthful look. Meanwhile, her career is still chugging along as she will star in the November 30, 2023, Netflix release “Best Christmas Ever!”
