Baldur’s Gate III is an immersive game where your actions result in dire consequences, making you play it with full concentration, and it also gets a bit tiresome often to defeat enemies.
However, you have a great alternative to recruit a particular character to your party, and Halsin is one of the most reliable choices you have in the game, thanks to his various Druid skills that increase your chances of survival.
If you are looking to recruit Halsin to your party, you need to follow a specific set of instructions to avoid any repercussions that may take up more of your time. So, here is a detailed guide to recruiting Halsin in Baldur Gate 3.
Where To Find Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Before we get into how you can recruit Halsin to your party, let’s find out where and how you can find him. After finishing the prologue alongside the Save the Refugees quest, you need to travel to the Brighted Village to the west of Emerald Grove and find the Goblin Camp.
The Goblin Camp is located further into the west of Emerald Grove, and you will eventually come across the camp. Now, all you need to do is locate the Shattered Sanctum, which will reveal the Druid Halsin.
How To Recruit Halsin to Your Party in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Recruiting Halsin to your party is a rather complicated path as it involves two different quests: Act 1 and Act 2, and you can only recruit him in the latter. So, below, we’ll elaborate on how you can make it possible.
Act 1: Save Halsin From the Goblins
After finding Halsin in the Shattered Sanctum, you will notice that he is held captive by the goblins in his bear form. To free him, you must distract the goblins to provide enough time for him to escape and then engage in a fight to defeat them.
Once they are dealt with, he will return to a normal state, and you can either defeat the goblin leaders or simply accompany Halsin back to the Emerald Grove and then form a party to defeat the goblin leaders.
After the battle, he will hold a celebration and request to travel with you as a member of your camp, but that’s not the end of his recruitment yet.
Act 2: Defend the Portal To Save Thaniel
After Halsin joins your camp, you will be accompanied by him to the Shadow Cursed Lands, but before that, you must travel to the Lastlight Inn located on the northern side of the map and learn about Thaniel from Art Cullagh.
However, you will need his Battered Lute to wake him from a deep slumber, which you can obtain by killing Malus Thorm, who resides in the House of Healing of Shadow Cursed Lands.
After informing Halsin about Thaniel, you will both meet at the lakeshore and eventually be plunged into a constant battle spree where you need to defend the portal for five turns while he retrieves Halsin.
Before the battle, make sure you are stacked with plenty of area spells that will make it easier to kill monsters and also a little rest for efficiency. After Halsin returns from the portal, you will meet again at your camp.
All you need to do now is talk to him, and you will be provided an option to recruit him to your party permanently.
