Have you ever been so overburdened with work that you wished the sun never rose the next day? Or the weekend ends so quickly that you grab onto it as hard as you can and get depressed after a vacation ends? Congratulations! You are overworked and can relate to Zom 100’s protagonist Akira Tendou.
Just like every other fresh graduate, Akira joined his dream job with, well, a lot of dreams and hopes. Alas, his joy didn’t last for a day, as he couldn’t go home for two days straight due to the workload.
A year passed with abysmal working conditions, and then two more, after which Akira was only a husk of a human. The world was black and white, and suicide seemed like a natural solution. Nothing could prevent another work day…unless the world underwent an apocalypse?
Zom 100 Plot
Akira Tendou joins his dream company and industry after working hard through school and college. His first impression of the company was a cheerful space with helpful co-workers; little did he know that the face wouldn’t last too long.
Turns out, the company overworks their employees with no bonus pay. Employees are expected to stay overnight to finish an unending amount of tasks. Superiors verbally harass the workers, and employees are manipulated to become enslaved. Tendou realizes it is a black company, but he thinks he can never find a better job.
After three years of working at the company, he has become suicidal and thinks that even a zombie apocalypse is heaven compared to his position. The next morning he wakes up to see the world has really been engulfed with zombies.
There is destruction everywhere, and the best part? There’s no more work. Everything suddenly becomes livelier, and Akira starts enjoying colors in his life again as the zombies come bearing freedom for him.
So what’s next? Very simple. Akira will now surf through this wasted world and complete all his bucket list desires.
Zom 100 Trailer

The second trailer focuses more on the sense of freedom that Akira enjoys for the first time. The zombies might have caused a global crisis, but Akira is happy and can finally enjoy the blue sky, green leaves, and bright red blood, as opposed to his previous black-and-white life.
