Are we seeing more of Tom Hiddleston as Loki? That’s always welcome. An entire decade of witnessing him in the MCU plus two seasons of the Disney+ show isn’t enough for us.

So, a season 3 of Loki would be most welcome. But is it possible with Disney boss Bob Iger to declare that Marvel Studios will be rolling back Disney+ Marvel outputs?

Marvel Studios or Disney haven’t officially announced Loki season 3. However, season 2 was announced after season 1 finished airing. So, an announcement can come on November 9, 2023, when season 2 will end. Executive producer of the series, Kevin R. Wright, has expressed interest in continuing it.

Marvel Studios hasn’t officially renewed Loki for season 3. However, Loki season 2 will end on November 9, 2023. So, there’s a high chance that the announcement of season 3 will happen then. After all, season 2 was announced right after season 1 finished airing.

Also, Loki’s executive producer, Kevin R. Wright, explained in an interview with Collider that even though the first two seasons were developed as one, there’s space to expand the Loki corner of the MCU into more. He said:

“Season 1 and Season 2 were developed and created as two chapters of the same book. Season 2 was about closing that book, but there are many other books on the shelf for this character and this world.”

Kevin Wright was so real when he said "Loki is being built with a lot of love and care, and an eye for the cinematic, I would challenge anyone watching to say that this show is not cinematic, and it’s not built with the highest craftsmanship and care"#LokiSeason2 #MarvelStudios pic.twitter.com/WGxCYOIatk

If Loki does get renewed for season 3, it won’t premier before MCU’s Phase 6. After all, it will probably take another two years to make and debut another season. Season 1 premiered on June 9, 2021, during Phase 4, and Season 2 did on October 5, 2023, during Phase 5.

However, we may see Hiddleston’s god of mischief in Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Even though Wright, like every other executive producer, would like to keep his show going for more seasons, the decision ultimately doesn’t rest on him.

#SecretInvasion final episode was MEHHHH. I supported this show from the start but what was that finale? half-baked boss fight, rushed, ok-ish CGI. Gravik killed off without any effort. No wonder Iger is reducing the budget-spending for Marvel if this is the quality pic.twitter.com/nSJMIWHTg2

After all, Marvel Studios has registered fan apathy towards their shows, which are getting pushed out like subpar conveyor belt sushi. Many have complained that projects like She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, etc., have subpar writing and VFX.

As such, Marvel might pull back its TV show production, and Loki season 3 might be its victim as well, even though the show has been praised for its excellent writing and special effects till now. So it remains to be seen if Loki season 3 gets scrapped due to this.

Which Actors Will Star In Loki Season 3?

While Loki season 3 hasn’t been announced yet, the main cast will probably remain more or less the same. As in, we might see these actors return:

  • Tom Hiddleston as Loki
  • Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie
  • Owen Wilson as TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius
  • Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Ravonna Renslayer
  • Wunmi Mosaku as high-ranking TVA Hunter B-15

What Will Loki Season 3’s Plot Be?

Loki Season 1 introduced the Kang version- He Who Remains, and Season 2 brought in another variant- Victor Timely into the fold. So it’s expected that season 3 will involve more Kang variants showing up, and the show might lead into Avengers: Kang Dynasty somehow.

However, the future of Jonathan Majors, who plays the various versions of Kang, is uncertain because of his high-profile domestic violence case. Reportedly, Marvel is looking to write him off from the MCU. What happens next with him remains to be seen.

Do you think Loki season 3 is a possibility? Or would you like for the show to end after season 2? What do you want a possible season 3’s plot to be?
