We all have characters we love. Michael, Trevor, and Franklin are the three characters that GTA fans are diehard fans of.
So, of course, they want these 3 to be in the next game- GTA 6. But will they be, or is it a new dawn for the franchise?
There is no confirmation that Michael, Trevor, and Franklin will be in GTA 6. The recently released GTA 6 trailer has highlighted a new protagonist- Lucia, and she will be accompanied by a male co-lead, rumored to be called Jason. Also, the franchise tends to avoid repeating protagonists, so the chances of the trio returning are low.
The GTA Connection Between Michael, Trevor, and Franklin
Since beginning in 1997, the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series has captivated gamers worldwide, earning its place as one of history’s most popular and, at times, controversial video game franchises.
GTA has left an indelible mark on the gaming landscape with its sprawling open-world environments, immersive storytelling, and a dash of mayhem.
At the heart of the GTA series is the concept of a vast open world. It is often inspired by real-life locations, where players are given unprecedented freedom to explore, interact, and engage in many activities.
From hijacking cars to evading the relentless pursuit of law enforcement to committing a myriad of crimes, GTA games have always pushed the boundaries of what players can do within the digital realm.
A significant turning point for the franchise came when Grand Theft Auto V was finally released in 2013.
This installment introduced a groundbreaking innovation by allowing players to control not just one but three distinct characters.
These are Michael De Santa, a retired and affluent bank robber; Franklin Clinton, a young gangster striving for success and Trevor Phillips, an unhinged and volatile drug dealer with psychopathic tendencies.
Grand Theft Auto V is proof of the series’ enduring popularity. Even years after its release, it remains one of the most sought-after games in the industry, having sold over 190 million copies and generating an astonishing $7.7 billion in revenue to date.
In the world of video games, it ranks second in terms of copies sold, with only Minecraft surpassing its impressive numbers, boasting a staggering 300 million copies sold.
Will Michael, Trevor, and Franklin Feature In GTA 6?
As Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) approaches, the gaming world is buzzing with anticipation, promising a fresh and exciting chapter in the iconic franchise.
While the fate of familiar characters like Trevor, Franklin, and Michael is unknown, it’s likely that GTA 6 will introduce a brand-new cast of characters, as the series rarely continues the stories of its predecessors.
The recently released trailer unveiled Lucia, marking the franchise’s first-ever female protagonist.
Set against the backdrop of a Miami-inspired Vice City, reminiscent of the 2002 Grand Theft Auto entry, GTA 6 is poised to take players on an exhilarating journey through a world of crime, intrigue, and adventure.
Lucia, the central character, shares the spotlight with an unnamed male lead, rumored to go by the name Jason.
Their relationship is akin to a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde, defined by a combination of love and criminal exploits that promise to keep players engrossed in the narrative.
A notable feature in the trailer is an in-game social media network resembling the real-world X/Twitter or Instagram.
It showcases videos of people partying on boats, daring individuals pulling alligators out of pools, and even a woman twerking on a moving car.
It leaves fans wondering if there might be easter eggs or references to the social media handles of beloved characters like Michael, Trevor, or Franklin. Thus adding an extra layer of intrigue to the game’s world.
One aspect that has fans reminiscing is the multiple endings in GTA 5, designated as A, B, and C.
Among these, the choice that resonated most with players was ending C, which allowed all the main protagonists to survive. Referred to as the “canon” ending, many believe it was the intended conclusion of GTA 5, leaving all characters alive and well.
So, the door is open for them to return. We will have to wait and watch if the trio pops up in GTA 6.
What did you think of the trailer for GTA 6? Are you upset that Michael, Trevor, and Franklin might not be in it? Or are you excited to play with the new protagonists?
