Rapper B.G, who was in prison, is out in the fresh air now. Birdman has been trying his best to release his guy from the bars. He also requested B.G.’s release in July. He stated that B.G.’s early exit from prison would have an impact.
Birdman explained that the rapper would help others by sharing his experience; hence, he should be released earlier.
In 2009, B.G. from ‘Hot Boyz’ was arrested on a traffic stop. The police discovered that the rapper had 3 guns in his possession, and 2 of them were stolen. He was charged with ‘two counts of firearm possession and one count of conspiracy in witness tampering’. Two years later, the rapper pleaded guilty and was sentenced to complete a 14-year federal prison sentence. After 12 years of jail time, on September 5, 2023, B.G. is now a free man. He was released a year early from his original release date.
Who Is B.G.?
Born on September 3, 1980, Christopher Noel Dorsey is well known by the name B.G. (Baby Gangsta). He is an American rapper who started his career in music with “Cash Money Records” in 1993. When Dorsey was in middle school, he met Bryan “Birdman” Williams in 1993.
Birdman took B.G. in with his brother and made him sign the contract with “Cash Money Records”. B.G. was a 12-year-old teenage boy when he joined the record.
He then formed a group named ‘Hot Boyz’ in 1997. The members of the group were his fellow rappers, including Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk. Alongside the group, Dorsey also worked for Cash Money Records and released several solo albums.
Among these albums, ‘Chopper City in the Ghetto’ was a platinum-selling album. He released this album in 1999, and since then, he gained many fans throughout his journey.
B.G. released his first album in 1996, titled ‘Chopper City’. He then released almost 9 solo songs, giving high competition to fellow Rappers in the industry. Dorsey also worked in collaboration with several artists with his group ‘Hot Boyz.’
In 1995, B.G. and Lil Wayne worked together on the album ‘True Story’. It was Dorsey’s first collaboration move in his musical journey, and his last collaboration was in 2010 with ‘Lil Boosie’ on an album called 225504. He also founded a new group in 2010 called ‘Chopper City Gorilla Gang (CCGG).
The Legal Scandal
On November 3, 2009, B.G. was arrested in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was in his car when police pulled him over during a routine traffic check. During the search of the car, police found 3 guns. According to some speculation, it is said that his girlfriend was also in the car with him.
Police reported that out of these three guns, 2 of them were stolen. Therefore, he was sent to the Orleans Parish Jail for carrying weapons illegally. Initially, Dorsey pleaded not guilty.
Soon, it was revealed that he also took part in “conspiring to obstruct justice.” On December 7, 2009, B.G. finally pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice and two counts of illegal possession of firearms.
July 18, 2012, he was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison along with three years of supervision upon his release. Recently, on September 5, 2023, B.G. was finally released from prison after completing 11 years out of 14 years. Upon his release, B.G. updated his fans on Instagram with an emotional post, stating his feelings about it.
