Why Is Billy Football Leaving PMT?
Billy Football announced that he is leaving Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take (PMT) on August 4. He is leaving the show to explore new opportunities in his career in Chicago and to spend more time with his family. He has not mentioned the post for which he is leaving his position at PMT, and his future plans are still a mystery.
Billy has been a hit with PMT fans due to his funny take, humorous way of talking, and vast knowledge of sports. Thus there have been many funny and unforgettable moments on the podcast involving Billy.
There is no doubt regarding the fact that fans will sorely miss Billy, and many are already trying to find where he will work next. As his future plans are still undecided, his followers are facing the blues as they cannot get their Billy to fix anymore.
Billy has enough experience to create his own podcast or join another one, and his fans will surely follow. With a widespread reach due to PMT, the guy has amassed quite a following with his talent.
In a lengthy post published on August 4 on the Barstool Sports website, Billy announced that he is n the way to Chicago from the Detroit Lions Training camp. He felt a huge mix of feelings while traveling and is super pumped to visit his new office.
With his iconic humor, Billy predicted that fans are bound to question why he would leave the “#1 Sports podcast in America.” He acknowledged that fans would think, “Billy is dumb, but I didn’t think he was leaving the only job he could hold down dumb.”
According to Billy, he is not motivated by typical reasons. He then goes on to discuss that he never meant to be famous and got his job solely due to not being a “ jackass in the Intern interviews.” “I was just a dude who loved the show and responded to a now-deleted Hank tweet looking for an NYC-based intern because I was living around NYC.”
The rest is history. From leaking PFT’s number to his apology PowerPoint, fans have loved every bit of his work.
After believing his football career was over, he decided he could finally focus on Barstool entirely, but the Chicago opportunity came up at the right time. “You see, what I’ve been trying to say is I am not really motivated by clout and not very egotistical in that I think I need to be in front of a camera or microphone every day.”
Billy acknowledged that he is close with his family and friends and has personal situations that need him to be closer to them. He said he would still blog, vlog, and continue creating content.
Last but not the least, Billy wants to grow up as he imagines he has been living life in a seemingly easy mode. He loves his time on the podcast and thanks his fans for all the support so far.
