The only thing scarier than a ghost or a monster is a damn running monster. Just when we let our guard down, a “Trojan Horse” type of monster is the highlight of any horror game,
Five Nights at Freddy’s, created by Scott Cawthon, looks like child’s play. But the video game series has brought out the Nyctophobia in adults too. With a very simple premise of harping on extreme fear of the dark, FNaF is just the worst nightmare brought to life.
And in this nightmare, we meet the most frightening children’s character, Foxy! Let us see what he is up to…
Quick Summary of the Story
The story starts with a newly recruited night shift guard, Mike Schmidt. One would assume that he must be out there in creepy woods, a haunted house, or a mental asylum. But on the contrary, we enter an innocent-looking Pizzeria with similar vibes as Chuck E. Cheese. Now who doesn’t love some good pizza, a playful setup, and a few live-version of cartoon characters?
That’s the genius of Five Nights At Freddy’s– It pulls you down the rabbit hole where you least expect it. We are introduced to four main mascots– Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy.
Mike is responsible for ensuring these animatronics are secured, and the facility is safe. Then why are shadows lurking in the dark when no other humans exist?
The whole point of the game is to keep surviving with the help of any source of light, as these devious animatronics are the shadows of the night. The Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is releasing in October 2023.
Who Is Foxy?
Foxy is one of the main antagonists. He is a menacing pirate animatronic who loves to run straight down the hall. He appears to be shy and reserved among others. But his deviousness is unleashed at night in pitch-black darkness.
In general, Foxy is deemed the most sadistic and evil of them all, considering his tendency to torture the victims by gauging their eyes out. This decayed-looking animatronic is more frightening as one never knows when he will spring into action.
Why Does Foxy Run Down The Hall In Five Nights At Freddy’s?
The west hall has a flashlight. So Foxy runs down the hall to take it away so the system doesn’t restart. His whole mission is to make the protagonist fail at surviving the night. Also, he is the fastest among all the other antagonists, and you can actually see him on camera, unlike other characters.
One of the reasons why Cawthon made Foxy run is to instill instant terror in the players. Foxy’s ominous run creates a sense of urgency for players to act faster. Also, it is the most fun jumpscare in the game.
What is Foxy’s Backstory? What Child Possessed Foxy?
Foxy is believed to be possessed by the undead soul of a child named Fritz. The kids, who were wrongfully killed, are on a revenge spree against a man named William Afton. They are unhinged as they torture anyone who is in charge of the Pizzeria.
Does Foxy’s run scare you in the game? Do you think Foxy will have a significant storyline in the new FNaF movie?
