The USA music industry was once a challenging market to break into. The “luck by chance” fundamentals changed drastically after the people were given a notable platform to showcase their talents.
The Voice by NBC is one such medium that discovered the hidden gems of America. What made the show so compelling was the mentor-mentee format that felt like a diamond cutting, as each contestant was trained by an established singer. As the show premiered in 2011, people were hooked to The Voice, as the four celebrity judges grappled to get the talented contestant on their team.
With a successful run of 23 seasons, The Voice reigns its supremacy worldwide, as more countries have launched their own franchise of the show. With the insurmountable popularity and significance of the show, aspiring singers queue up for hours to get a few seconds window to showcase their talent. And every single turning chair is a step closer to their dream.
Given the slim chance of getting selected for the final lineup, the latest episode of The Voice Season 24 left millions of viewers perplexed.
During the playoffs cuts on November 27, 2023, The Voice contestant Tom Nitti from team Reba decided to leave the show. Reba McEntire, the country legend and Nitti’s mentor, announced that the country singer will not be continuing due to personal reasons. No reports indicate that anything has happened to Nitti.
Did Something Happen to Tom on the Voice?
When Tom Nitti first entered the stage, no one could have predicted that the New York State Trooper would create such magic. The slow burn of his honey vocals went under-recognized during the blind auditions as the judges contemplated whether the US Army Veteran was suitable for The Voice’s essence.
To be fair, Tom’s version of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” was an arduous pursuit. When all hope seemed to be dwindling, one turning chair changed the course of his destiny.
When the legendary country singer Reba McEntire pressed the red button, she trusted her faith in the Nitti’s voice. Hence, the journey of a country singer unfolded in front of millions.
Just as viewers were getting invested in the singer, his sudden departure from the show raised concerns about whether the contestant was okay.
Per the latest updates, Tom Nitti does not seem to be experiencing a health scare. That being said, Nitti won’t be continuing in the playoff cuts.
The Reason Why Tom Nitti Left The Voice
After serenading the judges, audience, and viewers, Nitti’s rendition of Cody Johnson’s “Till You Can’t” won him the tough Battle Round. His mentor, Reba, came through by saving Nitti during the Knockout Round following his beautiful cover of The Temptations’ “(I Know) I’m Losing You.”
Team Reba faced its first hurdle when it was announced that Tom Nitti would be leaving the show midway. With his departure, the team relies on Jordan Rainer, Ruby Leigh, Jacquie Roar, Noah Spencer, and her ‘Super Save’ Ms. Monet for the playoffs.
Reba McEntire revealed about her member, stating–
“I have wonderfully talented people, but Tom had to leave for personal reasons, so I only have five artists tonight.”
So far, not much information has been divulged on the real reason for his departure.
What is your take on this? Do you think Nitti would have made the cut if he stayed? Who is your favorite contestant on The Voice for now?
