Very few male actors in Hollywood were identified by their luscious hair. John Travolta was one such heartthrob in the 1980s, whose thick black hair would swoon all the ladies.
Then there was Jack Black, known for his quirky acting and ruled the rom-com scene of the 1900s to 2000s. His larger-than-life personality was complimented by his equally iconic hair.
Regardless of what role he embraced, his hair played a whole new character. Even though he was stereotyped as the funny lead character, he still imbibed a pretty punk rock and roll image.
While his talents know no bounds, his thick long hair accentuates his stage presence. Mr. Black is rock and roll, romantic, funny, vulnerable, and considerate, without ever having a bad hair day; what else would one want from a “man-written-by-a-woman” kind of man?
Shallow Hall, The Holiday, Orange County, Jumanji Franchise, and more; Jack Black’s filmography is the most versatile roster ever! But his hair remains the main character. He established himself as a bankable actor with the cult classic film School Of Rock. People could also see through his kindness and his ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Meanwhile, he is still rocking and full of life with his American comedy rock band duo with partner Kyle Gass. Tenacious D has etched its name in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while exploring several genres like Comedy rock, acoustic rock, hard rock, and heavy metal. While the duo always delivers legendary live performances, Jack has also started donning a ravishing beard.
But the unpredictable actor/singer did something so unusual that it shooketh the whole fandom. During quarantine, he shaved off all his hair, including facial hair. This was the first time ever that the world saw Mr. Black shedding an integral part of his identity.
Some fans speculated that he might be undergoing chemotherapy for cancer treatment. But there have been no confirmed reports that Jack Black suffered from the severe disease.

Why Did Jack Black Shave His Head?
Quarantine brought light to different facets of a celebrity’s life. Most LA actors, musicians, and other socialites embraced the lockdown by pursuing hobbies, going on special media to document their day, or giving a sneak peek of their life besides the glamor.
Jack Black started his own YouTube Channel, JablinskiGames, which now has over 5 million subscribers.
He uploaded a video titled “everything must go,” where the viewers watched the actor shave off his legendary hair for five minutes straight with little to no explanation. He even called out his son to help him out with shaving off his remaining strands. The gradual removal of his hair was as satisfying as it was eccentric.
By the end of the video, he states, “This is how you get rid of the Covid hair.”
Although there is no solid explanation as to why he shaved his hair, that’s who Jack Black is. You never know what to expect from him: It is entertaining!
Fans completely lost their chill and complimented him on how young he looked. People started pouring in appreciation for vlogging his journey of being hairless.
“I, a grown man, just spent 5 minutes watching another grown man shave his head and his beard. And for over 4 minutes, not a word was uttered. I have no regrets.”
“Loved it. I had to shave all of my hair off last year due to chemo. It was extremely unnerving and upsetting. Watching Jack’s face made me relive all those emotions but also process them. I was teary at one point but then ended up smiling. Thank you, Jack. For whatever reason, you did this, and I’m grateful.”
“So poetic. So moving. So captivating. So metaphorical. The embodiment of who knows what. This is the big leagues. The bar has been set.”
“The way he looks at each lock of hair in his hand before putting it down has me laughing, and I don’t know why.”
“Only Jack Black can captivate audiences to watch himself shave and trim. I, for one, loved the part right before the back of the hair was hit when you had a mullet going. Thank you, Jack, for your years of laughter and entertainment. Sincerely, Grady J.
Jack, thanks for doing that. You sure have a lot of guts. I have to give you that and a pat on the back for all of us who needed to do something like that and weren’t able to do it. He did it for us, and I thank you.”
“This video of him just shaving without saying ANYTHING just radiates an emotion I can’t fathom.”
It is confirmed that he did not shave his hair because he was undergoing chemotherapy. Those speculations are entirely debunked. He must have cut his hair just because it’s “Jack Black being Jack Black.”
