While it’s a no-brainer that the American President has a history of making ‘foot in the mouth’ statements, Biden and his infamous gaffes have earned him the reputation of often saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
In his speech at the National Safer Communities Summit in Connecticut, Biden made no mistake in repeating history, ending his speech with an “Alright? God save the Queen, man” remark.
Since then, Biden’s cryptic remark has left many wondering if the US president referenced Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-serving monarch, who died in September, or if it was just another instance of Biden saying things that just don’t make sense!
Soon after he caused an uproar with his confusing remark, videos of Biden quickly started circulating online, leaving many Americans scratching their heads.
While critics were soon to jump on the social media bandwagon, ‘God Save the Queen’ soon started trending on Twitter. “The Biden “God Save the Queen” thing seems more like Biden just being a weirdo rather than lost or confused,” commented a user on Twitter. “More seriously, though, does anyone know why he might have said “God Save the Queen?” asked another user.
Among many users speculating the meaning behind Biden’s off-the-cuff remark, one user pointed out that Biden has perhaps used the same phrase to end many of his previous speeches too.
On the other hand, the White House Press Council soon clarified Biden’s remark, saying,
“He couldn’t do the full ropeline due to weather and was commenting to someone in the crowd. Several of you have asked me why he might have said that; I have no idea. Other poolers likewise have no idea,”

Given his most recent error, some commentators publicly questioned on Friday whether the procedure to use the amendment to remove the President should be launched. “Will anyone invoke the 25th Amendment?” Roman Jankowski, an investigative journalist for the Daily Signal, tweeted
Biden and The Debate Over His ‘Mental Acuity’
According to a Washington Post-ABC News survey, more than 6 in 10 Americans believe President Biden lacks the mental acuity and physical health necessary to carry out his duties.
Be it the tongue slip-ups, falling asleep, or stepping on a black cat, Biden’s mumbling has often boiled down to whether Biden is too old to run for the 2024 polls again.
Many have also pointed out that Biden is showing signs of cognitive decline, with his frequent stuttering and controversial remarks out of nowhere.
However, the pinnacle of Biden’s gaffe reached the rooftop when, last September, the US president asked if a dead Congresswoman named Jackie Walorski was present at his event after publicly mourning her death just a month before.
However, the White House quickly defended Biden’s statement, stating Jackie was “top of mind.” One can also not miss Biden’s yet another classic factual error regarding his late son’s death, when the 80-year-old President, during a speech in North Carolina, said to have lost his son in Iraq, but in reality, Biden’s son, Beau Biden, tragically passed away from brain cancer in May 2015.
With his erroneous statement stirring debates over his mental state again in the past, too, Biden’s repetitive misstatements on his son’s death fueled many to question whether he was in stable ‘mental health.’
For instance, in his address to the US troops in Japan, he claimed in October and November that his son “lost his life in Iraq” and that Iraq was “where my son died.”
Whether or not to take Biden’s ‘Save the Queen’s remark seriously still remains quite ambiguous, but the raising of concern over the US President’s recurring errors in his speeches has surely fueled many debates on the internet.
What do you think? Does Biden’s remarks raise serious concerns over his mental acquittal, or do you think he was referring to the song ‘God Save the Queen’ by Sex Pistol?
