Why Did Amy Allan Leave The Dead Files?
There are a few possible explanations for Amy Allan’s departure from The Dead Files, although none have been officially confirmed. One theory is that she may be looking for new opportunities beyond the show, such as writing a book about her experiences or exploring other paranormal projects.

Just a few days following the release of The Dead Files’ Season 15, the psychic made an announcement about her resignation through her Instagram account. When a fan inquired about her future plans, Amy confidently declared that she would be taking a year off to prioritize her well-being, manage her online store, refresh her knowledge on massage school, lead some courses, and even have some fun with a spooky weekend or two. The network said-
This season marks a significant change as it bids a bittersweet farewell to Amy Allan, a dedicated partner to [Steve] DiSchiavi for over 200 episodes.”
“As a gifted physical medium, Allan has been a fundamental part of the team since the show’s inception in 2011.”
What Is ‘The Dead Files’?
“The Dead Files,” an American paranormal TV show, made its debut on the Travel Channel on September 23, 2011. The show features physical medium Amy Allan and retired NYPD murder detective Steve DiSchiavi as they investigate haunted locations to gather evidence of paranormal activity.
Throughout the series, Amy and Steve conduct their research separately and then collaborate with their clients during the “reveal” segment of the show to discuss their findings.
The show’s fifteenth season debuted on June 1, 2023, as confirmed on April 21 of that year. However, it was also announced that Amy Allan would be leaving the show after the June 29 episode.
Who Will Replace Amy Allan on The Dead Files?
According to the network itself, Travel Channel revealed that Amy would “pass the torch” to psychic medium Cindy Kaza. The network added, “After years of doing this intense work, Allan will be stepping down for a personal break, passing the torch over to fellow psychic medium Cindy Kaza, who will continue to help solve cases of unexplained paranormal phenomena alongside DiSchiavi.”
According to her official website, Cindy Kaza was ten years old; she had her first encounter with a ghost when she woke up in the middle of the night to see her buddy, who had recently passed away in a car accident, standing beside her bed. Cindy persuaded herself that she was dreaming.
She began training not only in the United States but also at the Arthur Findlay School of Intuitive Sciences in Stansted, England. She believes in compassionately sharing her gift with others while also opening up others to the gifts they too possess and that everyone is inherently intuitive and able to feel Spirit!
Cindy has made numerous television appearances since 2018, including The Holzer Files, Ghosts of Devil’s Perch, Ghosts of Flight 401, Scream: The True Story, Ed Gein: The Real Psycho, The Curse of Robert the Doll, Conjuring Kesha, Portals to Hell, Ghost Brothers, Fright Club, Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour, Jack and Kelly: Night of Terror, and Below Deck.

Steve is not her boyfriend. She is married to her camera man. Steve is married to someone else.
Although I will miss Amy terribly. I can understand that being a physical medium must take a toll on both your body as well as your emotional health. Fourteen Seasons was an incredible achievement!
I hope to see her again somewhere, someday.
Cindy Kaza is quite capable as a physical medium, and I’m very glad that The Dead Files will be able to continue with her on board.
I love this show and of course I love Amy and hope maybe to see her soon on another show since she good at what she does. But Cindy is probably the only person that could replace Amy and do the show justice. So please keep the show going cause I missed it for last couple years I couldn’t find ya on travel Channel. Please don’t stop and keep this show going since I’m sure Cindy will show how amazing she is in the paranormal field. Thanks
