Recently, one such incident took place in New York City, which involved the brutal murder of an innocent who wanted nothing to help others and bring a more positive outlook on the world.
Ryan Carson, 32, is a New York social justice advocate who served as a campaign manager at the New York Public Interest Research Group. Regrettably, Ryan was stabbed to death on the streets of Crown Heights in Brooklyn on October 2, 2023, and left his last breath at Kings County Hospital.

Who Was Ryan Carson?
Ryan Carson was a beautiful soul who served as a campaign manager at the New York Public Interest Research Group and participated in several environment-related activities to preserve nature.
He joined the Pratt Institute in 2010, and as an environmental activist, he was always first to do something good for the world and also a very good friend, according to his fellow activists who shared their condolences on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Ryan had participated in several awareness programs, including one in which he traveled 500 miles on foot to request the approval of an overdose prevention facility. Apart from these, not many details about his life were revealed.
How and Why Was Ryan Carson Killed?
On Sunday, Ryan Carson was attending a wedding with his girlfriend, and after they left the wedding and were heading home, the suspect approached him on the streets of Crown Heights at around 4 a.m. and asked, “What are you looking at?”
According to new outlets and sources, the perpetrator then stabbed Ryan multiple times in the chest, and his girlfriend, who witnessed this horrible incident, immediately called the Police and explained everything.
The girlfriend was not harmed in the incident, but after Ryan was taken to the Kings County Hospital, he was shortly pronounced dead as the multiple wounds in the chest had already proved fatal.
The Police have so far made no arrests, and the investigation is currently ongoing. So, we can only wait for more information to be revealed as they track down the perpetrator.
Following his untimely death on Monday, over 100 people gathered during the night to honor the victim’s life by holding candlelight vigils and sharing their heartfelt condolences, per various news outlets.
Ryan’s roommate, Krantz, expressed disbelief after learning about his friend’s death. In his words,
“He’s really… like the epicenter of an entire community that he created, that he brought together. I don’t think anyone is exaggerating when they say he would give the shirt off his back.”
NYC Council Member Sandy Nurse also shared her condolences through X and told how Ryan was a dedicated environmental advocate who worked for the greater good and for the sake of protecting their communities.
