“You are not your job; you’re not how much money you have in the bank. You are not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet.” As Tyler Durden puts it, identity is a variable. You can never determine a person’s true nature from their job– be it an attorney, a professor, a medical health professional, or any “reputed” white-collar profession. The darker side of humans is Bermuda’s triangle of psychology; you never know what is sucked into their brains.
This recent case is a testament to don’t-judge-a-book-by-the-professor-who-teaches-it.
A Penn State University professor was arrested on Tuesday following an unusual investigation. Diving deep into the shocking case of a man and his pet.
What Happened on 13th June? Why Was a Reputed Professor Arrested?
A friendly knock on the door turned into an absolute nightmare for a professor. As soon as he opened the door to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR), he knew his life was over.
“I’m done, I’m dead, you don’t understand, I do it to blow off steam,” the professor pleaded with the rangers (reported in an affidavit).
“What do I have to do to get you to shoot me? I need to die.”
After verifying the identity of the man and his pet, he was arrested on the charges of
- Open lewdness
- Indecent exposure
- Sexual intercourse with an animal
- Animal cruelty
Penn State University released an official statement:
“Themis Matsoukas has been relieved of his responsibilities and is on leave.”
Meanwhile, his lawyer Matthew McClenahen responded, “it would be inappropriate to comment at this time.” The official hearing is scheduled for 19th July.
Before diving into the sinister details of the case, let us first meet the person of interest.
Who Is Themis Matsoukas?
Themis Matsoukas is a professor at Penn State University. He teaches students of Chemical Engineering, specifically Chemical thermodynamics. He has been affiliated with Penn State University since 1991.
After getting his diploma from the National Technical University of Athens, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1989, submitting his thesis on “interfaces and surfaces.”
The 64-year-old-professor has won three professional accolades in his career, including the 2017 Premier Teaching Award.
Moreover, Matsoukas has reportedly donated to Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren’s campaign. And cut to the present, he is now begging for his legacy to end after getting caught in a heinous act.
How Was Penn State University Professor Caught?
The DCNR deployed technological resources across the wilderness. This included cameras to catch people allegedly stealing hand sanitizers, equipment, and safety gear from the Rothrock State Forest in Huntington County, Pennsylvania.
Just two months after the cameras were installed, they spotted a man masturbating beside the women’s washroom. As per the reports, he was seen with his pet collie on the night of 13th April, walking naked from the waist down.
But this was just the start. The CCTV footage further revealed the same man engaging in sexual activity, rather, sexual abuse of his pet dog.
Upon close-up, the footage exposed the man recording the heinous act on his silver iPad.
Apart from the CCTV footage, the perimeter is also equipped with trail cameras. The investigators immediately gathered all the images. According to the reports, there were 6 images that dated back to 2014, showing a nude man exploiting a helpless animal.
They could identify the same man because of his attire that, included–
- Ski mask
- Boots with socks
- Wristwatch
- Northface Backpack
Last month, the rangers reported seeing the same man loitering in the woods. They followed his tracks, leading them to his green Subaru Outback car.
Police soon captured the license plate number and obtained a copy of his driver’s license. After matching the license picture with the man in the footage, they verified it was Prof.Themis Matsoukas.
With enough evidence, the cops secured search warrants for his house, where they also identified the pet collie as the same as in the recording.
And thus, he was arrested on the 13th of June.
Bestiality In The USA
The bestiality law has been imposed on all states, barring New Mexico and West Virginia, where sexual exploitation of animals is not considered illegal.
According to a lawmaker, there have been at least five arrests for animal sexual abuse in four different states in a span of a few weeks in 2021.
The other factor of these cases is the possible association with child abuse, as the investigators have noted that every single case of bestiality has a history of child abuse or keeping child pornography.
Hence, there need to be more stringent laws for animal abuse.
This is not the first time Penn State University dealt with a professor’s action. In 2011, Jerry Sandusky, an assistant coach for the Penn State Nittany Lions football team, was convicted of child sexual abuse that spanned over 15 years.

There are only 50 states in the Republic not 52, how did you or your editorial staff get this so wrong?
We need more cameras in public spaces. The only individuals who oppose this are the ones who have something to hide!
Why is it always dems – John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Epstein, etc?
