If you have seen the classic 1970s TV series and remember the character, Chrissy Snow, you would know it was played by Suzanne Somers, who passed away on October 15, 2023.

As an actress, Suzanne had a lot of challenges in her life, but as a person, she faced more downs than any person you may know of. With that in mind, to reminisce about the beautiful life of the recently passed-away actress, let’s delve deep into her life story.

Suzanne Somers, otherwise known as Suzanne Marie Somers, was an American actress, author, spokesperson, singer, and businesswoman.

She was born to an Irish-American family in San Bruno, California, on October 16, 1946. Unfortunately, her childhood was traumatic with an abusive and alcoholic father who didn’t look after her well.

Nonetheless, she graduated from Capuchino High School by herself and eventually attended Lone Mountain College, but dropped out when she became pregnant. At age 19, she married Bruce Somers but was divorced three years later in 1968.

RIP Suzanne Somers. So sad to hear this news.

Suzanne was a great conservative Patriot, a great television icon, a brave champion for women in entertainment, a survivor of a brutal industry, and a very inspirational human being.

While she’s quite famous as an actress with her roles in Three’s Company as Chrissy Snow, She’s the Sheriff as Sheriff Hildy Granger, and Step by Step as Carol Foster Lambert, she’s also controversial.

After turning into an author, Somers wrote several books, some of which have been heavily criticized. Her books, such as “Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones” and “Knockout,” were met with controversies.

In her first book, she addressed women’s health issues by consulting seven professional doctors, but her solutions were scientifically unproven, leading to the consequent criticism.

She was also proficient in writing poetry, as her first published one dates back to 1973, titled “Touch Me.”

Other than these, Somers also co-hosted the Candid Camera show with Peter Funt on CBS for two years in the 2000s, and in 2012, she even started her own online talk show named Suzanne Somers Breaking Through.

After attaining considerable fame through these ventures, Somers also began her own personal care enterprise, which sells various cosmetics and healthcare products.

After her breakup with Bruce Somers, she married Alan Hamel, the Canadian producer and television host, in 1977.

Alan Hamel is known for his works She’s the Sheriff, The Last Hurrah, and Tattletales, but he was only active until 2012. Before Suzanne Somers’ death, he even wrote a beautiful letter to her.

Reportedly, he had given the letter to her a day earlier, which she read happily and died peacefully in her sleep, knowing her husband would love her forever even if she left him behind.

Before she became famous through her acting roles, Somers lived in Las Vegas as an entertainer who worked for MGM Grand and Las Vegas Hilton. She even performed overseas, which landed her in sitcoms.

After being recognized as one of the hottest women during the 1980s, she was featured in two Playboy magazines for nude pictorials. However, her modeling career only lasted a few years before she completely ventured into other professions.

Despite her harsh upbringing and unexpected obstacles in her career, Somers made it through, but in 2001, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and fought against it for years.

She declined the usual treatments such as chemotherapy and opted for other risky yet high-success rate methods and eventually succeeded in eliminating breast cancer for a few years.

Nonetheless, her stage 2 cancer struck her again in July 2023, making it life-threatening until she died at 76 on October 15, 2023.

Suzanne Somers will be remembered as a fighter and a gentle woman who loved her husband, Alan Hamel, and her son, Bruce Somers Jr., with all her heart, and we hope her soul rests in peace.

So, how do you know Suzanne Somers? And how are you taking her death?
