Lindsay Shiver– a beautiful woman married to a doting husband and a loving mother to three wonderful children. How did a picture-perfect family turn into a cautionary tale?
The Bahamian Police arrested the 36-year-old former pageant queen Lindsay Shiver on the charges of plotting her estranged husband’s murder. Two other men were arrested on similar accounts of conspiring to kill. Who are these men, and how are they associated with Lindsay Shiver?
Lindsay Shiver, a Georgian woman, was married to Robert Shiver for 13 years before he filed for divorce on the grounds of “adultrous conduct.”
And hence begins a “marriage story” of countless accusations and “he said-she said;” but no one would have ever imagined the climax would be so terrifying.
Here are the chilling details of a GOOD marriage that turned into a BAD divorce and finally led to an UGLY court case.
Who Is Lindsay Shiver?
Lindsay Shiver is your typical suburban WASP mom, boasting her flawless family posts and soccer mom duties of three children on Instagram.
She was a winner of the Miss Houston County in 2005. She also earned a 2nd runner-up title in the National Peanut Festival pageant. Naturally, the beauty queen attracted the most eligible suitors. One of whom was Robert Shiver.
Robert Shiver is a former footballer from Auburn University, playing long snapper for the Tigers for three seasons between 2006 to 2008. He belongs to an affluent family and is the son of retired CEO Allen Shiver of a billion-dollar baking company Flower Foods.
He met Lindsay in 2007 during a fitness class at Auburn University. The instant sparks between them eventually manifested into a loving relationship before committing to a lifelong marriage.
Lindsay describes her marriage on an Instagram post with the caption–
“The key to a perfect marriage, is having two imperfect people, who refuse to give up on each other. So thankful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all of the love, laughter, and life we have created ever since! I love you babe Cheers to many more.”
But the hunky-dory narrative revealed much more cracks in their relationship.
Why Did Lindsay Shiver’s Husband File For Divorce?
Robert Shiver (38) found out about Lindsay’s extramarital affair with her much-younger lover, Terrance Bethel (28), at their place in the Bahamas.
Robert immediately filed for divorce on April 5 in Thomas County Superior Court. He requested the sole custody of three children and their $2.5 million mansion in Thomasville, Georgia. He even demanded that Lindsay get no alimony privilege since she is more than financially capable.
Lindsay Shiver retaliated to the case with her own domestic violence accusations against Robert. Her lawyers stated in the filings–
“Wife feels unsafe in the marital home and has installed locks on the interior doors of the home for protection. Husband has abused the Wife in the home in the children’s presence on multiple occasions, not only physically but also mentally and emotionally.”
The lawyer also clarified Lindsay’s alleged affairs–
“Extramarital relationship defendant has had was during the parties’ separation and legally condoned by [the] husband.”
Since then, the grueling legal battle has broken the family to no return.
Why Was Lindsay Shiver Arrested? How Her Plan Came To Light?
Let’s just say Karma has done its job. Lindsay met with her ill fate owing to her cruel intentions.
Police were investigating an unrelated break-in case at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Guana. While inspecting the suspect’s digital devices, call logs, and messages, the officers discovered somewhat unnerving WhatsApp texts that implied the plotting of a murder.
Upon further investigation, the recipient’s contact information was traced back to Lindsay and her lover Terrance Bethel.
The third person involved in this transaction was 29-year-old Faron Newbold, who conspired with Lindsay by hiring a hitman to kill her husband.
Police arrested the three perpetrators with enough evidence to present an attempt to murder case. Lindsay Shiver, Terrance Bethel, and Faron Newbold are scheduled for the next hearing in October.
What’s your verdict on this case? Do you think Lindsay is guilty? Do you believe that the laws are favorable for a husband in such cases?
