Do you believe there’s a portal between our world and the “other” realm? Are our ancestors watching over us?
These questions may not have scientific explanations, nor do they have definitive evidence. But one may feel a presence, intuition, sign, a breeze, or an unexplainable deja vu that can’t be analyzed under a microscope. It’s an overwhelming feeling to reunite with someone who passed away on the other side, or whatever your beliefs are on the afterlife.
Sam Gobach lived this moment!
Sam Golbach and Colby Brock are a YouTube duo who co-run the channel SamAndColby. Their rise to fame began in the Vine days, after which they transitioned to YouTube. However, the duo was unable to set the core intention when they launched their channel in October 2014. Even then, they would rack up millions of views with PG-13 content.
But the pressure of maintaining relevancy in the saturated YouTube market also compelled the YouTubers to take an edgy route with prank videos. Although these videos were all fun, eventually, they were boxed into the same category as the obnoxious prankster community.
And then came the worst controversy for the duo when the prank crossed the line. In one staged prank, Sam and Colby were kidnapped and taken into a deserted location. Sam is tied to the chair, and Colby’s face is covered with a cloth while his hands are tied at the back.
A masked man then threatens the duo and shoots Colby in the head. Sam wails in agony, trauma, and horror to see his best friend killed. But later, Colby and the masked man, another edge-lord YouTuber Sam Pepper, consoled the grieving Sam that it was just a prank.
This did not sit well with the viewers, who condemned Colby for pulling such a heinous schtick. The original video has since been deleted. Here’s a reupload–
After the prank-gone-wrong debacle, the duo had to regain their following and give their channel and brand a fresh image. Sam and Colby decided to embark on a new phase of exploring paranormal and haunted spots, with some of their famous series including “Spending a day in —” that brought back the same flare to their content.
Soon, their content accumulated over 1.48 billion views on YouTube, averaging 20-30 million views on each video. People love the videos where they explore haunted mansions.
In the recent video uploaded on October 22, 2023, titled “Surviving A Week at The Real Conjuring House,” Sam Golbach is filled with emotions when he encounters his grandmother, Libby Golbach’s spirit, trying to connect with him. He recalled the phrase “Onward and Upward” that his grandmother uttered before her death on December 6, 2013. Sam and Colby have since used this phrase as the tagline for their channel.
Who Is Libby Golbach to Sam Golbach? What Really Happened?
Elizabeth Dell Golbach, born on June 30, 1934, is the grandmother of YouTuber Sam Golbach. In the recent SamAndColby video, “Surviving A Week at The Real Conjuring House,” the duo explores a haunted house where the story of the hit franchise horror movie Conjuring takes place. They are escorted by the staff, who are familiar with the paranormal activities that occur in the house.
At around the time stamp 25:50, a spirit comes forward who communicates with one of the staff. Sam stands with his breath held when he realizes it spells L-I-B-B-Y G-O-L-B-A-C-H. He crouches on the ground, overwhelmed with the emotions of communicating with his dead grandmother.
He also assures that there was no way that the staff would have known that Sam’s grandmother is fondly called “Libby” in his family. Hence, it can be inferred that there the duo is not staging these events.
Libby said, “Onward And Upward,” right before she passed away, which kickstarted their career and became a slogan for Sam and Colby’s channel.
