On October 19, Gyeonggi Shinmun published a report revealing the investigation going on by Lee Sun Gyun, identified as “L” in the report, along with seven other individuals. They are being investigated by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit. The individuals face charges related to violations of the Drugs Control Act.
The investigation department reported,
“While investigating drug-related activities primarily within entertainment establishments in Gangnam, we obtained information that a celebrity is involved in drug use. We are currently conducting an internal investigation involving eight individuals including L, a male actor in his 40s.”
Furthermore, according to Gyeonggi Shinmun, the actor ‘L’ is alleged to have provided a substantial sum of money to the supplier. They further presented the statement made by the investigation team, saying,
“It is true that L provided a significant amount of money to the drug supplier while engaged in marijuana use. We estimate the amount to be around 300 million won (approximately $221,900).”
Following the chaos, Lee’s company, HODU&U Entertainment, came forward and released an official statement confirming that the actor was cooperating with the investigation. The company further informed that Lee has also pressed charges against individual A, for threatening and blackmailing him.
Fans are both shocked and saddened by the news. Few are supporting him for being an adult, while few believe that he might be blackmailed. Some also hinted that his name is being used to cover up a political issue.
