Is it even David Dobrik content if it does not end up in a scandalous event? The megastar Youtuber first rose to prominence with his vlogs that all conveniently ended at the 4:20 mark. After creating a cult-like group, famously known as the “vlogsquad,” Dobrik would film his friends under funny (and risky) scenarios.
But as the rules of the internet go– to remain relevant, you need to walk off the edge!
David Dobrik is in the middle of a lawsuit by a former vlogsquad member, Jeff Wittek, who was gravely injured during one of Dobrik’s “pushing-the-limits” excavator stunts.
The video ends in a near-fatal injury as Wittek slams into the excavator when Dobrik stops the leverage abruptly. Just Imagine the centripetal force with which Wittek crashed. He underwent multiple surgeries and received a half-as$ apology from Dobrik. Since then, Dobrik has taken an indefinite hiatus from YouTube.
However, the influential YouTuber has resurfaced behind the cameras, throwing a Halloween party for the Z-list influencers and a few big names. But it seems like Dobrik is yet to free himself from controversy. Though this time, it’s not Dobrik who stirred some sh*t; an unexpected perpetrator caused a commotion and potential lawsuit at the party.
Kane Kongg is a widely-known security guard who has previously served rapper DaBaby and is currently a bodyguard for Youtuber Jack Doherty. He is now under fire for punching an attendee at David Dobrik’s Halloween party. Kongg, who stands tall at 6’9″ and weighs around 401 lbs, knocked down a man with a punch amidst a dispute between Doherty and vlogsquad member Corinna Kopf. Kongg has a shameful record of assaulting people, like when he punched a fan for getting too close to DaBaby.
Who Is Kane Kongg?
Kane Kong has a mighty social media presence with over 639K Instagram followers as a content creator himself, mainly boasting his strength.
However, Kongg is known in the entertainment industry as an intimidating bodyguard, as his reputation precedes him for displaying extremely violent behavior.
In 2019, the hefty man who weighs over 400 pounds with a stature of 6’9″ punched a fan when she got too close to DaBaby. After the incident, he took to social media to defend himself by stating that “he was just doing his job.”
However, this also raises concerns over who made him the king of judgment and justice. Where does one chalk the line between doing one’s duty and straight-up assaulting people for no reason?
Why Does Jack Doherty’s Bodyguard Kane Kongg Punch People?
The incident is a disgraced display of violence just because he wanted to. Here’s what transpired before the KO–
- Jack Doherty and Only Fans celebrity/Youtuber Corinna Kopf started beefing when Kopf denied Jack entry to her Halloween party the previous day. Apparently, Doherty was trying to trespass the party, but Kopf called her security.
- The next day, David Dobrik hosted a Halloween party that saw several influencers, while Snoop Dogg was the MC. Doherty and Kopf were also present at the event.
- The video begins with a verbal rift between Doherty and Kopf. Meanwhile, her friends were seen in the background confronting Jack’s bodyguard, Kane Kongg.
- When one of Kopf’s entourage tried to deflate the situation, Kongg straight up knocked down the man with a single blow.
- Kopf and her friend got furious at Kongg as they were heard yelling at him, “What is wrong with you?” … “Are you f**king crazy?”
This incident could potentially end up in a lawsuit against Kongg and Doherty, who also defended his bodyguard, saying, “they were pressing us.”
Kongg should learn a lesson or two in humility and anger management, considering he has assaulted people in the past, justifying his actions as a defense.
What is your take on this case? Do you think the violence was warranted in this situation? Has Jack Doherty been too smug in openly sharing the video of his bodyguard knocking out a relatively smaller man?
Should these two be facing legal consequences, even though there might be their side of the story?
