They say never meet your idols, and it looks like the case of Colleen Ballinger and Adam McIntyre is similar. The former is a famous YouTube content creator known for the Miranda Sings character.
She recently came under fire after McIntyre accused her of grooming and using him when he was a teenager. The 20-year-old McIntyre is also a YouTuber with more than 200k subscribers.
This isn’t the first time the young YouTuber has put forth these allegations. He had done so in 2020, but Colleen’s fandom buried and silenced his words. However, he has again brought forth the allegations after another video was released by a former fan exposing Colleen and her fandom. So what are Adam McIntyre’s exact accusations?
Adam McIntyre posted a YouTube video on June 7, 2023, discussing his relationship with Colleen Ballinger in detail. He accused Colleen of manipulating, bullying, grooming, and gaslighting him between 2017 and 2020 when he was a minor.
McIntyre has alleged that the YouTuber asked about his virginity and favorite sexual positions and even made him do free labor for her. Colleen hasn’t been fired because she operates her own YouTube channel.
Who Is Colleen Ballinger?
Adam McIntyre, a YouTuber and social media influencer, accused YouTuber Colleen Ballinger of grooming and manipulating him. He has also alleged that he was an unpaid intern for her channel for four years. The young influencer has attached alleged group chats, text messages, and other screenshots as proof alongside audio messages.
Adam said that he was only 13, and Ballinger was in her 30s when they met for the first time. This is the second time McIntyre has brought forth such allegations. When he was 17 in 2020, he posted his first YouTube video covering the allegations. He called it “Colleen Ballinger, Stop Lying.” In the video, he talked about Ballinger sending him lingerie pics when he was a minor.
In response, Colleen also made a video addressing Adam’s accusations. It was titled “Addressing Everything.” She claimed that the lingerie thing was only a joke. His newest and second video goes into more detail about his relationship with her.
Accusations Against Colleen Ballinger by Adam McIntyre
As per Adam McIntyre, there was a private group chat where Colleen Ballinger would send sexually inappropriate texts. He also claimed that in the group chat, Ballinger had asked the teenage girls to share graphic details of their first menstruation. Here’s what one such text from Colleen allegedly said:
“Tell me all the thoughts you had when you first got your periods. Please and thank you. Example: I thought I s–t myself cuz the blood was so dark in my underwear.”
In one such alleged text, Ballinger apparently asks McIntyre, about 15 during this incident, if he had slept with anyone yet. She also apparently asked him about his favorite sexual positions. Also, Colleen allegedly requested him to send pics of his butt. The list of accusations doesn’t end here.
Adam also claimed that the older youtuber joked about her fans’ mental health and mocked a fan with a tattoo of her name on their arm. McIntyre said they used a Sharpie to draw that design to joke about it. He also noted that Colleen would mock fans for taking photos with her and then share them publicly and act like she loved clicking them.
The 20-year-old YouTuber further said that Ballinger would pass comments on his body. He claimed that she specifically complimented only the skinny parts of his body when he sent her a photo at the beach. Due to this, he developed body image issues. But to make him feel loved and special, she would also love to bomb him with compliments and praises.
Due to all these, he was easily manipulated by her. In the group chat, Adam also accused Colleen of discussing inappropriate and intimate details of her divorce and relationship with Joshua Evans, her ex-husband, with him and other teens. In one message, she called her ex-husband “emotionally abusive” and termed herself “brave” for escaping her marriage.
One of the most shocking accusations made against Colleen is of abandonment. Adam, an Ireland resident, claimed that Ballinger invited him, then 14, for a Dublin trip in 2018. She was performing in the city and wanted him to visit.
Adam planned the trip according to the school schedule and convinced his parents to drive him to the meeting spot 4 hours away by car ride.
But Colleen kept changing the meeting spot. Also, he stated that she appeared annoyed at the thought that his parents would accompany him. As a result, he felt abandoned in a place he didn’t know how to navigate. As for the meeting, they only hung out for a few minutes before she left.
Adam also said that he ghost-wrote parts of “Miranda Sings” and claimed his contribution made the skit famous. He also said that in 2020, after the satirical coming-out tweet got backlash from LGBTQ fans for queerbaiting, she gaslit him by saying that he was the one who had posted it.
The alleged text from her read:
“I’m so glad everything is doing well, but even though you have the password, I need to approve everything you post to avoid problems.”
When the drama didn’t die, she supposedly gaslit him further. When the drama reached the ears of Adam’s mother. She messaged Colleen never to contact him again. Since then, the YouTuber has maintained her distance from him.
