An enemy’s enemy is a friend. What about an enemy’s friend who accidentally helps you instead? Oh, to be wrapped in a paradox!
Mr. Piers Morgan, fiercely known as the conservative political journalist and broadcaster, wears his heart on his sleeves and tongue in his cheek. Morgan first got his big break at the tabloid news, The Sun.
Under Rupert Murdoch’s wings, the journalist quickly soared in the journalism world with hard-hitting commentary and no bullsh*t opinions. He may ride on fallacies, but people still subscribed to his outlook.
The 58-year-old TV personality continues to remain relevant even after 35 years in the media industry. One of the significant reasons why people tune in is for his truth bombs. Plus, he has the sass of every gossipmonger ever.
In the past five, Morgan has been heavily involved in “reporting” the royal affair when Prince Harry married ‘Suits’ actor and Philathopist Meghan Markle.
Ever since then, Morgan has been defending the Royal family against Markle’s claims that she was subjected to racism inside the palace. He was adamant that Markle was spreading lies to garner public sympathy. But wait…what just happened? Did Piers Morgan ally with Meghan Markle? Here’s a brief rundown of what Piers Morgan did and its implications.
Omid Scobie’s new book ‘Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight For Survival’ drops the ball on all the insider scoop on the British supreme family. In one instance, however, the British journalist/writer also addresses Meghan’s claims that she experienced blatant racism from the family members who expressed concerns over their son Archie’s skin color.
The US/UK version of the book is the watered-down edition of what Scobie wanted to say. But a rare gem has come forward in the Netherlands when people discovered that the Dutch version of the book straight up mentions the names of the two royal members who passed racist remarks on Prince Haarry’s son.
The Dutch publishing house Xander Uitgevers was asked to remove the Dutch copies from Holland that reveal the names.
Mr. Morgan, however, has something else up his sleeves. He stated during his talk show segment that the British people deserve to know the royal racists when the Dutch people are now already aware of who Markle was referring to.
On November 29, 2023, in one segment of the ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored,’ the host Piers Morgan revealed the names of the two racist royals who passed remarks on “how dark” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie’s skin color would be. Morgan said that the Dutch version of Omid Scobie’s book Endgame mentioned the names of King Charles III and Princess of Wales Kate Middleton.
Morgan thought that he needed to reveal the names because he believed that no racist remarks were made in the first place.
Let’s decode what he meant.
Piers Morgan Reveals ‘Racist Royal.’ Why Would He Do That?
In 2021, Meghan Markle poured her heart out in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. She goes through the trauma she faced inside the royal house and how she was outcasted by the “White” royals. After the scandalous exposé, the opinions were split between ‘believing Meghan’ and ‘what the hell, Meghan?’
Piers Morgan clearly belonged to the latter bunch, where he openly criticized Markle for vile attempts at seeking attention. But one thread seemed to still be the point of contention.
Markle revealed that when she announced her pregnancy to the royal family, two members passed crass remarks stating what Prince Harry’s son Archie’s skin color would be like. “How dark” would be his skin color, considering Meghan Markle is mixed race herself from her mom’s African American heritage.
Ever since then, people have been willing to know who those ‘royal racists’ are…. And just when we thought that names would be taken to the royal graves, Omid Scobie’s book exposed the two.
In the Dutch version of ‘Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight For Survival,’ Scobie specifically names the first royal. But for the second name, he goes the vague route.
Xander publishers were asked to withdraw the copies, to which they released the statement–
“The rectified edition of ‘Eindstrijd’ by Omid Scobie will be in bookstores on Friday, December 8. Xander Uitgevers temporarily removed the book from sale, due to an error that occurred in the Dutch edition.”
And somewhere in the other part of the news cycle, someone was itching to yell the names out to the world.
In the Wednesday episode of ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored,’ all hell broke loose when Morgan revealed the names of the two royals. He prefaced the segment–
“I’m going to tell you the names of the two senior royals who are named in that Dutch version of the book because, frankly, if Dutch people wandering into a bookshop can pick it up and see these names, then you, British people, here — who actually pay for the British royal family — you’re entitled to know, too.”
Morgan believes that racist comments were never made, and we were not given the context to Markle’s claims. He said–
“And then we can have a more open debate about this whole ferragosto because I don’t believe any racist comments were ever made by any of the royal family, and until there is actual evidence of those comments being made, I will never believe it.”
“But now we can start the process of finding out if they ever got uttered, what the context was, and whether there was any racial intent at all. Like I say, I don’t believe there was.”
Disclaimer: We are not confirming that the two names revealed are facts. This is what Morgan alleges in his show.
“The royals who were named in this book are King Charles and Catherine, Princess of Wales.”
Royal commentator Angela Levin condemned Morgan’s actions. She told the Daily Mail–
“I think it’s the wrong thing to do, because that, in a way, is helping Harry and Meghan to smirch the royals… to punish the royals and humiliate them.”
“It’s just so unnecessary and spiteful and nasty,” she said, adding, “I think it’s very wrong of him to name it. I think we should all keep our mouths shut because we’re not on Omid’s side are we? He’s certainly not. He’s not on Harry’s or Meghan’s side, and I think it’s therefore a mistake.”
What is your take on this? Do you believe that the two revealed names are correct? Would you consider the remarks as racist towards Markle?
