Rudy Farias is the only one who can narrate his story, but even that agency is taken away from him. Just a couple of days ago, we reported that the missing teen from 2015 has been finally found after eight long years, who is now in his early twenties. This is the brief highlight of the article–
- Rudy went missing in 2015. In 2018, he was reported seen sleeping behind a family member’s house. But police found no one after the investigation.
- Rudy Farias was found on June 28, 2023, at a church 8 miles from his Houston home.
- He was said to be struggling with PTSD, depression, and anxiety when he went missing.
- He was found with cuts and bruises all over his body.
- He was admitted to a hospital where he was reportedly non-verbal and cooped up in a fetal position.
- His mother, Janie, provided his pictures in the hospital to the media.
There were no other official reports from the investigators or the hospital regarding the actual cause of Rudy’s condition.
But the case took an unexpectedly dark turn when the recent allegations surfaced against Rudy’s only guardian, his mother, Janie Santana.
Who Are Rudy Farias’s Parents?
Rodolfo Farias III is the father of Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Farias IV. He worked in the Houston Police Department (HPD) under the traffic enforcement division. He served in the department for dedicated 21 years. However, as reported by KHOU, he was involved in shady practices for allegedly writing bogus traffic tickets to record overtime.
On August 19, 2014, he was relieved of duty after these allegations were brought to light. The senior Farias was among the four officers who were accused of doctoring a bunch of speeding tickets under the authorization of HPD’s Traffic Enforcement Unit. Apparently, they were haphazard in the scam, as the records showed they were at two places at once.
Later that day, he was found dead in a parking garage behind the department’s jail near downtown Houston. He committed suicide in his patrol car, identified by the HPD the following day.
Rudy also lost his brother, whom he considered his best friend and closest confidant. He died in a tragic motorcycle accident in 2011.
And after experiencing such great tragedies in his life, Rudy became more reserved than before while he lived with his mother, Janie Santana, in Houston, Texas.
What Did Rudy Farias’s Mother Do?
Finding Rudy brought in more unanswered questions than solving the case. His extended family, including his aunt Pauline Sanchez Rodriguez and cousin Michelle Sanchez Rodriguez, revealed Janie’s true face.
According to Michelle’s interview with News Nation, she said that Rudy was always a shy and timid boy. But he never was the one to get into drugs or alcohol, and “He would never lie about something like this,” Michelle said. He was a reserved teenager who was coping with the untimely deaths of his loved ones.
On the contrary, Michelle revealed that Janie is highly “conniving and mainpulative” and “she tries to make people fear her.”
INSURANCE POLICY COULD BE A FACTOR:
The interview revealed that Rudy’s older brother had a life insurance policy, but he put Rudy as the benefactor. Michelle also revealed that Janie would go to any lengths to get financial support from her family members. Pauline, who is Janie’s step-sister, was allegedly providing her with money. She said that Janie was also involved with several men, possibly for monetary purposes.
(these are just allegations)
THE CASE TAKES A DARK TURN WITH SEVERE ALLEGATIONS:
On Wednesday, community leader Quanell X accused Rudy’s mother of abusing her son–
“So she brought him back to the house and hid him in the home, and initially whenever investigators would come, she would hide him in the house. He just kept saying, ‘I don’t want to go to jail.”
“She was giving him drugs. She was punishing him by locking him in a room over and over. She convinced him that law enforcement wanted to put him in jail, that law enforcement was looking for him because he ran away and that because he ran away, he was going to go to prison.”
Remember how there were reports that Rudy was seen sleeping behind someone’s house?
Well, this bizarre event resonated with a few neighbors who saw Rudy around. But they were not sure of his identity.
One of the neighbors, Kisha Ross, also said she saw Rudy Farias occasionally even though he was reported missing. She told the reporters–
“He never came into my garage with a sober mind. Never. Only thing he said to me was he didn’t want to be at home because his mom got on his nerves.”
Some allegations suggest that Janie sexually abused Rudy and held him captive for eight years while giving him hallucinogenic drugs. Here are some vile allegations against Santana–
Michelle said that Janie was also keeping the money from donations from the community for finding Rudy.
Rudy is now reportedly under the custody of Pauline until he has recovered fully. Meanwhile, police are investigating the new allegations.
