The Powerball Winning ticket was sold at a small convenient store called Las Palmitas Mini Market, located in Downtown LA and owned by Nabor Herrera.

The news hit like a lightning bolt when the reports stated that a winning ticket was purchased from Downtown Los Angeles.
The Powerball Jackpot ticket had all six numbers drawn on it, which yielded a total of $1.08 Billion.
Now, there are two choices for the winner to claim their money–
Either get a lump sum of $558.1 million before taxes or get an annuity of $1.08 Billion for the next 29 years before taxes.
The winner has 60 days before they reveal themselves to claim the money. A proper identity verification protocol is carried out by the official Powerball organization, after which the recipient can choose their option.
California Lottery spokesperson Carolyn Becker said during a news conference–
“They have to claim their prize, and then we have to spend time vetting the winner to make sure it is the right person.”

Besides the ultimate jackpot, Wednesday night also birthed several millionaires with Thirty-Six $1 Million-Winning Tickets and Three $2 Million-Winning Tickets.

As per the latest updates, the Las Palmitas Mini Market sold the winning ticket.
According to the Powerball Rules, the store owner will get $ 1 million for selling the jackpot ticket.
The daughter of the store owner Angélica Menjívar told the reporters that the family is ecstatic about earning the bonus, but they are yet to make plans on how to spend it.
Nabor Herrera, the store owner, was stunned when the reporters gathered around his store on Thursday, and then he found out that his store sold the winning ticket. With his million-dollar smile, he told the reporters–
“I didn’t know, I am finding out right now when they have me surrounded.”
“They didn’t want to let me park.”
“Blessed, thank God someone won.”
“We also get a little bit.”
Some of Herrera’s regular customers bought a bulk of tickets. He was hoping at least someone would win. Well, he bought a couple of tickets for himself too!
From the past Powerball winners, this is the third largest pool after one Powerball jackpot of $2.04 Billion on November 7, 2022, and $1.586 Billion on January 13, 2016. Both winners were from California as well.
