Adaptation of the popular comic by MCU Secret Invasion is finally out on public display, and Marvel fans worldwide just can’t keep calm. Amid growing anticipation about the TV series adaptation, the mini-series just dropped its first episode on Wednesday, and it sure looks promising.
Ali Selim-directed series is no new to Marvel fans, but fans have been more than ever curious after streaming the first episode.
With Samuel L Jackson in the lead, the series has been making headlines ever since its release. Discussions about the characters and the change in the storyline from comics to TV series are among the few things that have been making headlines lately. With the premiere of the first episode, here are a few things fans are curious about!
Where Was Nick Fury Before Secret Invasion?
As for many Marvel fans who are aware of its previous installments, Nick Fury was last seen in deep space, surrounded by Skrulls. Secret Invasion’s episode one, therefore, makes reference to this at least twice.
Fury was working on SABER, a space station, for almost five years, after an apparent stand-off with Thanos, after which he felt incompetent compared to Thanos’ powers. Although Fury never says this out loud and states that he is monitoring the development of SABER, deep down, he feels like he wasn’t as strong an agent as he thought. This is why he ended up spending more time in deep space than on Earth.
Even though Fury claimed that he was overseeing SABER, he always had an inkling of what the attacks on Earth were. This only inspired him to work more on SABER as it was the only alternative suggested by the government that would defend the planet against extraterrestrial attacks.
Navigating through helplessness and the constant guilt that he rather ran away from his duties, Fury often fought his inner demons.
When Does Secret Invasion Take Place?
Amid the growing terror of Skrulls on Earth, Fury’s absence further made them rebellious in an attempt to make Earth their own home. Even though he is not in a mental state to retaliate against them, in a counterattack, but of the bond with his friend ‘Talos,’ Fury is compelled to return to Earth to give a fitting reply to Skrulls.
But why are the evil Skrulls so keen on attacking Earth, you may ask?
Their purpose to take over the world and make it a ‘Skrull paradise’ is to be blamed!
Led by Gravik, an extremist, leads the Skrull movement on Earth, and Secret Invasion is all about these shapeshifter aliens trying to invade Earth.
Many Marvel fans have also pointed out how Skrulls were the driving force behind Secret Invasion, their inability to take on a larger fight with Kree, urging them to invade Earth instead secretly.
