One of the popular Baseball stadiums in California is the L.A. Dodgers Stadium. Known for its Baseball League has garnered a lot of eyes on its submerging into the water due to Hurricane Hilary.
With images and video footage circulating all media portals; fans have concluded that the stadium is flooded like the rest of the California parts.
Well, there is no flood in Dodger Stadium, California. The aerial shots are taken from a pretty distant height that it looks like it is submerged in water. This is because of the optical illusion, as per experts.
Dodgers Not Flooded. Spokesperson Clarifies The Air
Situated in the Elysian Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, The footage of Dodger Stadium has given fans a lot of suspicions that whether or not the stadium is flooded with water which pretty much looks different.
As the aerial footage of the stadium was portrayed on all streaming stations, the stadium did look like it has flooded, but Steve Brener, a spokesperson from the Dodgers, spoke to The Associated Press and cleared the air. They also posted an image on Monday that clearly shows the parking lot dry.
The footage of the outside area of Dodgers does seem to be wet and has collected a lot of water. The video posted on Instagram with the caption-‘Dodgers in the morning’, shows that the stadium is affected by the heavy rain as water poured around it, but nothing could be affirmed in the hazy visibility and far distance.
The Los Angeles Dodgers Aerial Photography accounts were asked to comment on it but did not respond. The president of L.A. Dodgers Aerial Photography did respond to comment on the flood outside the stadium. He mentioned that it seems opaque and is an optical illusion of the wet concrete outside the stadium.
“It’s just the way you’ve got the rain affecting it, you’ve got the light coming in on gray.”
Even Hany Farid, who is an expert in digital forensics from the University of California, Berkeley, told AP through mail – “I don’t think the video is fake or manipulated, I just think that it does not show flooding around the Stadium.” He said it’s hard to tell at a distant aerial view whether it is a wet surface or one holding a few inches of water.
Hurricane Hilary Got Major Events Reschedules, Even BLACKPINK Concert
Mark Holtzman even mentioned that it sounds bizarre to hear that the stadium is flooded as there had been instances of being dry all the time. Even had flown many times but never heard or seen wet ‘but this one looks like it has water’- told AP.
Apart from the stadium holding water, many major Baseball events have been rescheduled from three Sundays to another week. The schedule can change if the weather remains the same. Even popular K-pop stars BLACKPINK were performing in the same stadium.
Fans would be disappointed with the changes, but this is the story all over California.
