NASCAR announced a sudden suspension before the Sunday race at Michigan International Speedway. Noah Gragson was swapped out for Josh Berry. However, the reason behind the suspension is quite curious.
According to NASCAR, it was a disciplinary measure against Gragson. Due to it being an indefinite suspension, there is no guarantee when the racer will return. However, there have been many racers in the past who have returned to their career after completing an indefinite suspension period.
So, hope still persists for Noah Gragson, but let’s first find out why he was suspended in the first place.
Why Was Noah Gragson Suspended from NASCAR?
Noah Gragson liked a George Floyd meme through his personal social media account, which resulted in him being indefinitely suspended by NASCAR. The meme in question made fun of the way George Floyd was killed.
Floyd was an African-American man who was murdered by a police officer, Derek Chauvin, following a store clerk’s report that he was suspected of having used a counterfeit 20-dollar bill. The police officers removed him from his car, and a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on his back and neck, suffocating him for nine and a half minutes.
Despite Floyd’s repeated pleading that he can’t breathe, Chauvin did not let go, causing the former’s death. Chauvin was fired and found guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter.
Floyd’s death later became a catalyst for protests against police brutality against blacks. Once Noah Gragson’s act of liking the meme was discovered, it started circulating on social media until it reached NASCAR, who made the final ruling.
After NASCAR’s suspension became public, Noah Gragson tweeted an apology stating that he was disappointed with himself for his lack of attention and action on social media. He also pledged that he would try to treat everyone equally no matter who they were, but he messed up.
What Was the Meme That Noah Gragson Got Suspended For?
Now the billion-dollar question is, which meme got Noah Suspended? The meme had Floyd’d head edited on an image of Sebastion, the crab from The Little Mermaid. Instead of the song “Under the Sea,” the picture had parody lyrics stating Under da knee.”
The meme references how Floyd was killed by Chauvin, suffocating him on the ground with his knee. The dark meme can be seen as offensive, causing NASCAR to jump into action.
However, many have questioned the decision as suspending someone over liking a meme seems incomprehensible, especially when Gragson never created the meme and only liked it.
Tell us what you think of the matter. Was NASCAR unjust in their decision, or did Noah’s like reflect on racism?

Legacy was looking for a reason with the switch to Toyota. The million dollar question is exactly when did Noah like the meme? If it was in the past, why now??? $$$$$$
