Marvel’s Secret Invasion might have been dead in the water, but there’s a show coming to save the MCU from the continuous downward spiral it has been on since Avengers: Endgame- Loki season 2.

The first trailer of the highly anticipated MCU Disney+ series was released recently, and there’s plenty to unravel and dissect in it.

One of the mind-bending curious things in that trailer was seeing Tom Hiddleston’s Loki slip in and out of time and place. That ability, or rather, phenomenon, has been named as Timeslipping. The Asgardian god of mischief slips in and out of the TVA headquarters, where such shenanigans are impossible. So what’s going on with Loki?

In the season 2 trailer of Loki, Tom Hiddleston’s god of mischief can be seen slipping in and out of time and place in the TVA headquarters, which should be impossible. Ke Huy Quan’s OB lets audiences know that this is called Timslipping. It could be an after-effect of the death of He Who Remains, whose demise unleashed the multiverse. However, this might be how the MCU brings Wolverine and Deadpool into their universe.

What Is Timeslipping?

In the season 2 trailer of Loki, the titular character glitched in and out of the TVA quarters and appeared at different time points. During one such glitch or slip, Tom Hiddleston’s character meets Ke Huy Quan’s OB, who tells audiences that what Loki is going through is called Timeslipping. This action is impossible in the TVA HQs.

What’s worse is that, as per OB, there’s no way to stop this. But to know how to stop this, it’s essential to understand how this works. From the trailer, it looks like the god of mischief will be confronting his past, present, and future selves while also exploring the complex multiverse and variants further. So it’s like a form of time travel.

So this glitch could be caused due to the intersection of different versions of him across time and space. Many have pointed out that this Timeslipping looks suspiciously similar to how glitching is seen in Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse, even though the word itself is new to the MCU dictionary.

This Timeslipping phenomenon could be caused by the murder of He Who Remains at the end of season 1 by Sylvie. His death unleashed the multiverse, which could have resulted in the threads of the various universes getting entangled across time and space, especially for Loki because he was present when He Who Remains died.

It’s clear from the trailer that Mobius and Loki will have to stop this; otherwise, it might endanger the TVA and the entire interconnected multiverse of the MCU.

The X-Men and Deadpool in Loki Season 2?

I would love to see Hugh Jackman's Wolverine ditch his sleeves at some point in Deadpool 3 to have the bare-armed look, but if any of the rumors are true and they are doing more covering to prevent any kind of skin cancer relapse from outdoor scenes, keep the sleeves. For a long time, it was hinted that Deadpool 3 and Loki season 2 would connect to each other. The very first indication of this came from Ryan Reynolds interacting with the official Miss Minutes account on Twitter/ X.

Over the months, it has been revealed that Deadpool 3 will involve some form of time travel that will allow him to interact with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and go on an adventure with him.

While there have been many theories about how that will happen, Timeslipping is another way this team-up can occur. Also, since there are rumors of actors like Jessica Alba and James Marsden reprising their roles as Sue Storm and Cyclops, respectively, Timeslipping might be the way viewers see multiple X-Men from the Fox films in the MCU one last time. After all, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X has already made it in.

Loki Season 2 premieres on October 6th on Disney+.

What are your thoughts about this new Timeslipping phenomenon? Why do you think this is happening? Is it similar to the glitching in Spiderverse? Will we get to see the X-Men in Loki season 2 itself?
