All hell broke loose when TikTok let its users create their own filters. Despite the social media giant’s best efforts to comb through the thousands of filters, some explicit ones have been making the cut.
The seemingly harmless filters featuring Princess Peach, Hello Kitty, or other popular characters will likely traumatize your childhood if you click on them. Many users and creators alike have fallen victim to the explicit filters.
TikTok probably already regrets its decision to give users free reign on filters. Users have abused the power by making graphic filters, but thankfully TikTok is banning any such content.
From Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, and Hulk to Chun Li and Hello Kitty, nothing has escaped the clutches of these perverted creators. The brunt of the effect will fall on unsuspecting children who have access to the app.
Let’s take a look at the latest TikTok controversy and how these obscene filters have taken down the app’s favorability even more.
What Is the Princess Peach Filter on TikTok? How to Use It?
The fav Princess Peach filter is a currently banned filter created with shocking sexual images of the character. It follows a common filter trend where different images are shown, and you have to lean your head to the left or right to select the image you want.
As you keep choosing, the images you don’t choose get eliminated, and you are ultimately left with your favorite Princess Peach image.
However, the now-banned filter had pornographic images of the Super Mario Bros character, and many users reported the sudden explicit photos that popped up. The creators who have uploaded videos of the filter have blocked the crude content by using emojis or blurring them.
As the filter kept gaining hate, and many creators issued warnings against using them, but it led to the opposite effect as many curious people searched it up to see what the hype was about.
Why Was Princess Peach Filter Removed from TikTok?
The fav Princess Peach filter was recently removed from TikTok due to violating TikTok’s policies. The app’s guidelines state that it does not support explicit content and nudity. Since the filter contained crude images that went against the guidelines, it was unsurprising that the staff banned and removed the filter altogether.
The filter went viral on TikTok as people were shocked at the images used in it. It was traumatizing, to say the least.
Explicit Filters on TikTok
Ever since TikTok let users create their own filters, some have been abusing the power. Seemingly tame filters with Hello Kitty, Mario, Hulk, or other characters marketed toward children have taken the brunt of the graphic content.
The initial pictures look normal at first, but users are shocked by the lewd images that degrade the characters. The filters have eluded TikTok staff and have escaped through the elimination process since combing through so much content so fast is impossible.
These vulgar filters are more commonly available than you think, as many users have reported encountering tons of them on the app. One creator even said in a video that he has seen 40 so far, some of which have yet to be banned.
News of this newest controversy follows the Montana TkTok ban, which will give the government more reasons not to allow the apps in other states.

This is such an interesting read! I had no idea the Princess Peach filter was causing such a stir on TikTok. It’s crazy how something fun can lead to such drastic measures like banning. I wonder if we’ll see more filters get restricted in the future!
