American YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed is famous for his live streams and has slowly climbed the rams of social media influencers. Several clips from his streams go viral from time to time.
However, the latest viral video of the streamer has unexpectedly shocked fans. The usually jolly guy revealed his close-to-dying state as he was suffering from an unbearable headache. From a swollen eye to a dreadful voice, the terrifying scene made fans fearful for their loved YouTuber.
IShowSpeed suggests that it is a rare condition, but what are cluster headaches exactly? Let’s learn more about the condition.
What Happened to IShowSpeed?
IShowSpeed posted a YouTube video on July 28 in which he seemed to be in a disastrous state. It was a quickly shot video in which Dareen couldn’t even open his eyes out of a headache. The video titled “i might die bye” showed Dareen dealing with cluster headaches.
In the video, Dareen described the headaches as the worst experience he has ever had. “A deadly headache disease. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I can’t do anything right now. It hurts so bad, chat. It hurts so bad. I can’t do anything. It hurts. Everything I do, like, something pounding my head every time, and I’m so angry.”
In fact, the streamer seemed so distressed that he bid farewell to his audience, unsure if he would be safe later.
In another video, the YouTuber revealed his swollen eyes, which were only getting bigger by the day. He described it as a stabbing feeling. He was brought to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and received treatment.
Speed’s father, Darrel Watkins, gave an update on the streamer’s recovery. He thanked the fans for their support and clarified that he was feeling much better than before.
What Is a Cluster Headache?
A cluster headache occurs in cyclical or cluster periods and is one of the most painful types of headaches. It can lead to bouts of attacks that can last for weeks or months, followed by periods of no pain.
Cluster headaches are rare and not life-threatening, and medication can make them shorter and less severe. Symptoms of cluster headache include excruciating pain, generally behind or around an eye. It can also cause pain in other areas of the face, head, or neck.
The headache may cause one-sided pain, excessive tearing, redness or swollen eye, stuffy nose.
During cluster periods, headaches can occur every day, several times a day, and single attacks can last for hours. Most of the attacks occur a few hours after falling asleep, and the pain can wake you up.
Cluster headaches can randomly attack anyone, as proved by the case of Speed, but they can also be induced by stress and other healthwise bad habits.
