Nikita Dragun, the fabulous transgender beauty YouTuber, and model, has hit pause on her social media presence.
Her last YouTube video was over two years ago, even though she enjoys a whopping 3.44 million followers on the video-sharing platform. So why has she taken a long break?
Nikita Dragun hit pause on her social media after her November 7, 2022, arrest in Miami, FL, facing charges of misdemeanor battery, disorderly conduct, and felony battery on a police officer. In an Instagram update on November 20, 2022, she thanked her fans and cited the need for private healing. Nikita had also previously explained that growing attention brought unwanted negativity, which made her retreat from social media.
Explained: Why Has Nikita Dragun Taken a Break from Instagram & Youtube?
If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen Nikita’s YouTube videos lately, it’s not your imagination playing tricks. Her last upload was back in June 2021. Yep, that’s over two years ago!
Nikita Dragun has taken a break from social media following her November 7, 2022, arrest in Miami, FL, for alleged felony assault.
Yes, you heard that right! Nikita found herself in hot water after an intense altercation at The Goodtime Hotel in Miami Beach, FL. She faced misdemeanor battery, disorderly conduct, and felony battery on a police officer charges. Quite the mix!
After her arrest, Nikita ended up in Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a hefty $5,000 bond hanging over her. But here’s where it gets juicy – she claimed that despite being a woman, they placed her in the men’s unit.
In response, the Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation Department begged to differ. They said she never actually made it to the men’s unit.
Instead, she spent her time in an “open booking” area, followed by some quality solo time in a cell, all because of her “high profile status.”
Fast forward to a November 20 Instagram update, and Nikita spilled the tea. She thanked her fans for their love and support, revealing she’s taking a step back from the social media whirlwind.
In her own words:
“I’ve always been open with you guys about my journey, and there is an appropriate time for that, but oftentimes, the best way to heal and grow is to do so privately.”
Also, Dragun has openly admitted to facing mental health challenges. In December 2021, she revealed on Instagram that she spent eight days involuntarily hospitalized in Virginia, starting on Thanksgiving Day.
Also, in a May 2022 YouTube video (now removed), she disclosed her diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
So, she’s gone off the grid for a bit to focus on her mental health and overall well-being. You do you, Nikita!
But there’s another reason behind her hiatus that she revealed in a chat with E! News’ DRIVE! in September 2022, before the debacle of her arrest.
She said that as her following grew, so did the attention, and with that came some not-so-nice stuff. She revealed,
“It’s like you’re subjected to so much more than just a couple of comments.”
But hey, Nikita is no stranger to haters. With millions of followers on various platforms, she’s developed a thick skin. “If I survived high school, I could literally survive anything,” she said, brushing off negativity like a pro.
As for when Nikita will return to making YouTube videos, she has set no timeline for that.
