Losing a dear one leads to an atrocious pain that one has to deal with for life. Even American country music singer Kellie Pickler went through such a painful period after she lost her husband, Kyle Jacobs, in February.
For the last few months, Kellie Pickler silently dealt with the untimely demise of her husband and cocooned herself from the rest of the world. Now, after six months of mourning, Kellie Pickler has finally broken her silence and opened up about her loss.
Although the singer is still trying to come to terms with the loss and trying to recoup, Kellie has come forward and thanked her loved ones for their support and wishes during her troubled times.
What Happened to Kellie Pickler?
It was on February 17, 2023, when Kellie Pickler’s songwriter husband, Kyle Jacobs, was found dead at their Nashville, Tennessee, home. He was 49 years old at the time.
As per a statement, the 36-year-old Pickler told authorities that she woke up shortly before but couldn’t find her husband. And when she and her personal assistant couldn’t open the door to a room in the house, they immediately called the police.
Police said, “Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him. After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911.”
Metropolitan Nashville Police Department told ET that, after being called to the home, they discovered Jacobs “deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.” Further adding that “his death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.”
The autopsy report finally confirmed that Jacobs died by suicide. As per the report obtained by People, the toxicology results revealed that Jacobs had no drugs in his system at the time of death. He did, however, have a history of “pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use.”
Pickler was deeply hurt after losing her beloved husband and shunned herself from the world. It is now after six months that Pickler has opened up about her husband’s demise.
In a statement to People, she said, “One of the most beautiful lessons my husband taught me was in a moment of a crisis, if you don’t know what to do, ‘Do nothing, just be still.’ I have chosen to heed his advice.”
She further said, “Thank you to my family, friends and supporters, for the countless letters, calls and messages that you have sent my way.”
The 37-year-old said the support has truly touched her soul, and it’s helping her “get through the darkest time” of her life.
Elaborating further, Pickler said that she will hold an “intimate memorial for my husband, which will happen later this fall,” adding, “that is what Kyle would have wanted.”
