Week 7’s games have been quite eventful but also somewhat surprising due to the key players getting off the field, which made quite the difference for the end result.
While Bijan Robinson was partially absent for the Falcons during their game against the Buccaneers, Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins also faced a similar situation.
So, what happened to Jaylen Waddle during his game against the Philadelphia Eagles? The Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Jaylen Waddle, apparently sustained a back injury during yesterday’s NFL game, but it is unsure how it happened. He returned to the game in the third quarter after visiting the locker room.
What Happened to Jaylen Waddle?
The Miami Dolphins were already struggling with their offense prior to their game with the Philadelphia Eagles, but their first half felt even more hopeless, especially with Jaylen Waddle’s unexpected injury.
Unfortunately, the team lost one of their best players, the wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, during the early stages, and even though he wanted to compete until the end, his injury didn’t let him.
Waddle reportedly stayed on the sidelines for a while, hoping his injury wouldn’t prevent him from continuing, but once he felt it was too painful to ignore, he went to the locker room to get it checked.
Following Waddle’s exit from the game, the official X account of Miami Dolphins tweeted that Jaylen Waddle has suffered a back injury and is questionable to return.
As shown in the broadcasting channel, he was temporarily treating his injury by wearing an electric heating pad, but it wasn’t helpful, meaning his injury wasn’t anything minor.
Did Jaylen Waddle Return to the Game?
Following Waddle’s walk to the locker room, many fans expected that he wouldn’t be able to return to the game. However, he was back in the game at the end of the third quarter.
The NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo tweeted on X about how Waddle was back in the game after temporarily treating his injury.
Before his return, though, Tyreek Hill stepped in to fill in the role of a wide receiver and had a decent game with nine receptions for 82 yards as well as a touchdown.
Even though Waddle’s return added strength to the Miami Dolphins, it wasn’t enough to save their team, and they eventually lost to the Eagles by fourteen touchdowns, with the scores being 31-17.
Will Jaylen Waddle Return for the Next Game?
Jaylen has never suffered a back injury before this game, but he previously missed several games due to various injuries.
During Week 3’s game against the Denver Broncos, he suffered a concussion and missed out the entire game, but they were able to win the match by a considerable margin.
Furthermore, he was also out of many games during the COVID season, as well as when he suffered a chest bruise against the Atlanta Falcons. Nonetheless, he was never really away for a long time from the plays.
The only time he missed multiple games was three years ago when he suffered an ankle sprain. So, his back injury might not be anything serious, seeing as how he returned to the game just after a single quarter and will likely play the next game.
So, did you watch yesterday’s Dolphins vs. Eagles game? What did you think about Waddle’s disappearance during the third quarter?
