Switching on the TV to see cute dogs? That’s an instant stress buster. Lucky Dog is one of the programs that provides that medicinal dose.
After all, seeing cute shelter dogs who might not be on their best behavior find forever homes does put a smile on every viewer’s face.
However, there are rumors that something has happened to the hosts, Eric and Rashi. What is it, and will they be continuing to host the show?
There have been rumors about the hosts of Lucky Dog- Eric Wiese and his wife, Rashi Khanna Wiese, leaving because of ex-host Brandon McMillan’s return. But that’s not true. As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding Eric and Rashi’s dismissal from the show.
What Is Going On With Lucky Dog’s Eric and Rashi?
There have been online rumors about the hosts of Lucky Dog- Eric Wiese and his wife, Rashi Khanna Wiese, leaving the show soon. However, those rumors are baseless.
They aren’t leaving the show, and as of November 19, 2023, there has been no official announcement of anything as such.
These rumors began making the rounds on the internet when the previous host of Lucky Dog, Brandon McMillan, began hosting a few episodes of the latest season.
McMillan left the show in October 2020 after the season ended, citing the network’s shift in interest from catering primarily to the animals to thinking about profit first. However, he has returned and hosted a few episodes of season 11.
But as of now, this doesn’t mean that he is returning full-time and replacing Eric and Rashi as the hosts. So fans of the two can relax.
Who Are Eric and Rashi On Lucky Dog?
Eric Wiese and his wife, Rashi Khanna Wiese, are professional and certified canine trainers who have been unfalteringly committed to the welfare of dogs. In every episode of the CBS show, they work with a shelter dog.
They evaluate the canine and design training methods so that the dog’s behavioral issues can be solved and they can find a forever home.
Eric and Rashi took over the hosting duties of Lucky Dog from Brandon McMillan in season 8, which began airing on January 2, 2021. This was when the new season began.
Since then, they have been the hosts and are focused on rehabilitating dogs at the Westside German Shepherd Rescue in Los Angeles. Both use cruelty-free, straightforward training and rehabilitation methods that viewers can use on their pets.
Eric and Rashi are kind and compassionate towards the dogs while also understanding which canine needs help correcting behavioral issues.
Rashi has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California.
As for Eric, he is a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).
Also, his American Pet Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator certification makes him an excellent fit for the show. He knows which families will be great for which dogs, which reduces the chances of the dogs getting returned.
He dedicated his life to animals, specifically dogs, after volunteering at a little boarding kennel in Missouri’s St. Louis at only 15 years old.
Do you love watching Lucky Dogs? What do you think of Eric and Rashi as the hosts and trainers? Are they better than Brandon McMillan?

Where are Eric and Rashi? Brandon’s reruns have been on for quite a long while?
Eric and Rashi suck. Plain and simple. They show no love towards the dogs.
Brandon is the ONLY host of Lucky Dog! I have stopped watching since Eric took over. The care that Brandon has shows through in his interactions with the dogs as well as the lucky adopters. He also explains things well and has some innovative techniques that he customizes to match the dog he is training. He is ALWAYS compassionate and effective. I am a veterinarian and have always been interested in animal behavior, this show with Brandon starts Saturdays off with a smile. Thanks for the “Reunion” episodes, please keep them coming!
I think all 3 trainers on ” Lucky Dog ” are good. I rebelled against Eric and Rashi at first, but then I got used to them. At first, it seemed that Rashi had minimal interaction with the dogs, But, after a while, that changed. I don’t know if someone had a talk with her about being more ” hands on ” with the dogs. Whatever happened, it worked. As for Brandon, he has the FUNNIEST pronunciation of ” good ” when praising the dogs.
