Eamon and Bec are a Toronto couple who literally left behind materialistic city life in their minivan and never looked back.
The partners launched their YouTube channel’ Eamon and Bec’ in 2014, and they have since documented their journey of being minimal millennials, explored various places, and vlogged their unique experiences in the wilderness and living in a van. As a viewer, I was totally hooked on their series, binging on how they would give their van makeovers.
With over 1.25 million subscribers, the YouTube wanderlust couple has taken us throughout the world and taught us simple pleasures are the ultimate elixir of life.
As years went by, the small changes in their lifestyle became quite evident to their followers, who thought that the couple might be losing their edge. But the truth is far from what it seems.
Eamon Fitzgerald (age 28) is engaged to Rebecca ‘Bec’ Moroney (age 29). They have been living in a van and traveling throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. The couple also owns a tea business called “Habit,” formerly known as “Chaiwala Chai.”
On November 27, 2023, Eamon and Bec uploaded a video on YouTube titled “Our Unexpected Move to Toronto,” where they revealed that they would be moving to a rented house. This decision ensued after Bec mentioned that they might have to deliver their premature baby. The couple wanted a stable living space for their baby to recover well.
Everything We Know About the Couple Who Lived in a Van
You know that every great idea or journey starts with a Chai (tea).
About ten years ago, Eamon and Bec created Chaiwala Chai, where the composition helps with detoxification and aids digestion. Although the organic tea was a hit, the couple wanted something more.
Finally, listening to their wanderlust calling, they decided to give up everything that weighed them down, pack the essentials, and head to the horizons in their van. Together, they gave their van a stellar makeover, started vlogging their daily lives while traveling, and gave advice on simple tricks and tips for survival.
The couple also went through a major challenge in their lives when Bec was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer On December 21, 2021. They documented her entire battle with cancer, and the viewers rejoiced when she recovered.
And with another miracle, the couple announced that they were expecting. They also moved to an isolated cabin in the woods so that Bec could enjoy full convenience while pregnant.
But then, the couple faced another concerning obstacle.

Eamon and Bec have always practiced a healthy relationship. They always stood by each other and became each other’s strength. They even started their own podcast, ‘Reroot,’ where they give crucial financial advice on how to travel while earning.
However, the couple had to make a life-altering decision after their little bundle of joy arrived early. Eamon and Bec’s latest video indicates that they are having a premature baby, who will be in NICU until fully recovered.
Hence, the couple decided to rent out an apartment in Toronto. They also stated that they would not be selling their van, giving us hope that the new family of three will be back in their house on wheels.
